I purchased HomeDesigner Pro in 2018. I used it to model the changes we were doing for our house remodel. Some features were easy to use, others were very difficult. In particular, the roofing features were very difficult, non-intuitive and had a steep learning curve. The training videos were too simplistic. Auto-roofing couldnt be used, because I needed to make it look like MY roof ... not some auto rendering.

This is a great product that will allow me to grow in to a hobby Ive been away from for a while. Ive got a lot to learn but the help videos are very useful. Still early, still learning but very glad I made the purchase.

Lacks sufficient tech support. Does not include user manuals (Can be printed separately at significant cost). Not for the technologically challenged. Take note of the significant computer requirements. Anything less than the recommended capabilities (i.e., minimum requirements) will make this program pretty useless.

I personally enjoy using this much more than AutoCAD or any other general-purpose software

This product is a dream come true. As an aspiring architect this product is the perfect combination of utility mixed with a user friendly interface and quality of life shortcuts.

As noted in a prior review, Amazon sells the 2021 version of this program and nowhere in the description is it noted as such. However, also thanks to the prior review, I contacted Chief Architect and within 30 minutes I had the latest version added to my account.

Although I am just learning the software, I think it great that it will not install anything into a plan that’s not up to code!

I have owned Home Designer Pro for several years and several versions. It is a wonderful program for a non-professional. I have designed and built several projects. I love the ability to create a 3D image while I design and also the ability to create Facades and plans. Everything is drawn to scale in Imperial Units or metric. It is not an engineering program, it will produce complete drawings if you know how to use it, but it will not calculate weight loads etc. Chief Architect does produce software for the professional but the cost is higher. For the enthusiast, this software is the best!

Good program for someone that can use it everyday. The videos help a bunch to learn
