I bought these to protect my fruit against the birds. With the bags slipped over the fruit (the pics are my figs) and the strings cinched, the bags stay sturdy in place. They’re sheer enough for sunlight to get through as the fruit ripens and strong enough to keep the birds and bugs out. The bags are easily loosened and removed so the fruit can be picked and enjoyed. I’ve used the bags over and over again! I also use the bags on my tomatoes, and they work like a charm keeping out the birds and bugs. Some of the beefsteak tomatoes grew so large that I had to cut the bags off. So I ordered the next largest size, 5x7”, and they work well. They give the tomatoes more room to grow. I also started bagging my little groups of cherry tomatoes in the larger bags. My peppers and strawberries seem to be safe for now but I’ll bag them if the birds or bugs starts nibbling on them. Great product and great price!
