IHome appears to have discontinued support for HomeKit. The Home app on iPad no longer recognizes these devices.

You have to download a separate genie app =- and it is not compatible with homekit either

Works great for my sprinkler pump and outdoor lighting. Download the app and your good.

Connecting to wifi and getting it set up took less than 5 minutes. Linking to Google Home was super easy too! Setting it up to come on at a certain time and go off at another was also super easy! I am also able to tell Google to turn it off/on without any issues! If you set this up to have one plug always on and one on a timer, just double check on the device to make sure the outlet that should remain on, remains on. I found out by accident that one outlet was off. Overall, this device really is the easiest wifi connected device that I have set up this year! It does what it should and responds when needed. Highly recommended.

The outdoor plug is very easy to setup. One mistake I made was thinking it would use the IHome app which it does not. The instructions point to the geeni app. This is not a negative on the product but something to be aware of. After setup I am able to link it to Alexa and control each outlet in the plug individually. The plug looks well made and my problems so far. When placing this plug it will need to go on the bottom outlet plus must hang off the floor. If you place plug on the floor or upside down in the elements the plug will get damaged since it is not designed to work in that position. I bought this for holiday lights and ended up not needing to use it, so its taken me forever to review. But, Im so glad I did! This was VERY easy to set up and linked with both Google Assistant and Alexa seamlessly. Im sorry I didnt set it up sooner. I started trying to connect it to the Geeni app on my own and it was taking a while, then I followed the instruction booklet and it literally connected in three seconds... Read the instructions people. Also, my plug is set up fairly close to my router, so that may effect how quickly it connected and how well its been staying connected. It has both schedule and timer functions. So, you can set it to turn an outlet on and off at set times and make it recurring (like youd do with holiday lights) or just a one-time thing. Additionally, you can set a timer so that the outlet turns off after a certain amount of time. It was very easy to link to both Google & Alexa and the voice commands worked perfectly on both platforms with basically no additional work. Of course, youll probably want to rename them from Switch 1 and Switch 2, but you dont have to... I would definitely get a smart power device from iHome again. I understand it doesnt work with the iHome app and that older iHome devices dont work with the Geeni app... But, this is my first iHome device, so that hasnt caused any issues for me.

I highly recommend this if you’re looking for an outdoor smart plug. I put off fooling with it for over a week because I thought it would be a headache to get it setup. Nope. Had it connected to my Smart Life app and plugged up outside in under 5 minutes. There’s a plug-in streetlight I use in my front yard to pull into my driveway at night, otherwise I can’t see. This wi-fi plug allows me to turn it on and off from anywhere without plugging and unplugging. It’s located at least 20 feet from where my modem is located inside my house and I have no problem with my connection. I can’t say if it would pick up a wifi connection any further out, but if it didn’t, that would really be more an issue with your router’s signal strength than this product. In that case, I’d recommend getting a stronger router or a signal booster. Luckily, I didn’t have any issues. It’s also nice to know that the other switch is controlled separately. It’s PERFECT for holiday lights. Again, I HIGHLY recommend this little thing. I can’t compare it to any other brands because this is my first one. All I can tell you is that this one in particular does its job well and is easy as pie to set up. If it proves not to be outdoor friendly or I begin to have connectivity problems, I’ll come back to let you know. For right now, it gets 10 stars. A+
