Being an i5 type this is the base of Intel processors. You can get the i5 types in all generations including the latest 13th-generation processors that just came out. Do your homework and see which generation/i version (i5, i7, i9) will do the best job for you. Just buying the cheapest is as foolish as buying the most expensive for no real reason. Keep in mind most i9 versions are 125 watts or more and cooling those processors is a skill in itself.

Why did Intel launch this CPU when the driver isnt ready? Someone at Intel told me its not ready and coming in few weeks.......just sad they want your money first

I own a Gigabyte Z490M Gaming X motherboard. It has two M.2 slots, but one that doesnt work (labeled limited functionality). It turns out that Gigabyte built ahead to provide added functionality once the 11th Gen processors were released. So, when the new processors came out, I replaced my 10th Gen i5 10500 processor with this one. Initially, I noticed six things:

6c/12t what more could you want for $200. Its very fast and even though the TDP is 125w it almost never needs this much power for normal use and even in games. The TDP scared me at first as I only used 65w processors in the past but man was I happy with the temps.

Very fast processor, even w a $100 cheap Asus motherboard. Dont spend your $ on an I7 or I9. This will do 99% of what you will need. DO get a decent $40-50 heatsink and fan for it.
