> 24 hourI got this over a 13th Gen since it is now fairly inexpensive and still plenty fast. I am using the Asus ROG Strix z690-E mobo so I should be able to upgrade to 13th Gen when those come down in price. This CPU needs a good cooler, I am using a ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I am dual booting Linux and Win10 though I am running games mostly on Steam under Linux. Works surprisingly well.

> 24 hourI though I was lucky when I snagged one of these right after it was released. Now my very expensive new computer is just sitting around collecting dust because of the worldwide shortage of DDR5 memory. Intel being such a massive company should have forseen this and used their resources or pressure to at least make sure the initial roll out had memory for the performance builders as we drive the market in the first place. Oh well.

> 24 hourI usually buy every gen just play and most generates the improvement is marginal. This 12th gen is impressive. Makes the older gens not worth it unless they can be had for about half of what retail price is. 12th gen price to performance is incredible.

> 24 hourI dont play anything too intensive. Maybe Elden Rings? I am more of a FPS/CSGO player and this CPU goes up by maybe two degrees when I play those games. With a Noctua DH-15 this thing is ice cold.

> 24 hourIf youve seen anything about it, youll know this bad boy loves to get fired up. Typically running cpu intense games at max graphics brought this chip up to 100°C! Thats tjmax! Ouch! I have a kraken x52 strapped to it as well and still needed to undervolt, which is probably saving her life. Once you do though, And properly, theres honestly no performance drop. Its definately too good of a cpu for what I use it for, I just like to say I have it. Definitely water cool this thingz unless you know what youre doing. Also, you might want to get one of those thermal grizzly mounts for it. Do it right the first time you mount it, and dont let it bend under those extreme temperatures.
