> 24 hourI just did a build with a Z690 MB and this CPU (along with dual RTX 3090 cards).

> 24 hourI usually buy every gen just play and most generates the improvement is marginal. This 12th gen is impressive. Makes the older gens not worth it unless they can be had for about half of what retail price is. 12th gen price to performance is incredible.

> 24 hourI got this over a 13th Gen since it is now fairly inexpensive and still plenty fast. I am using the Asus ROG Strix z690-E mobo so I should be able to upgrade to 13th Gen when those come down in price. This CPU needs a good cooler, I am using a ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I am dual booting Linux and Win10 though I am running games mostly on Steam under Linux. Works surprisingly well.

> 24 hourWhile I was away on a deployment I wanted to come back home to a little PC project, but wanted to build something more high-end (my previous build being an i7-9700K and 2080 Super). Luckily I heard about this i9 getting on the market and I was looking at the Ryzen 5900X, but I had a good experience with my previous Intel CPU (Nothing bad with the couple Ryzen builds I’ve had either).

> 24 hourWorks great. Cut my CPU load almost in half from my old i7 system. Stays cool (using EKWB waterblock) and never goes over 50°C even with stress testing and hard gaming. Price is high compared to AMD’s offerings, so that’s kind of a negative, but overall this is a rock solid CPU.

> 24 hourEasy to setup, Runs fast, some bioss you have to enable the last turbo level manually instead of auto if you want to see 5.2ghz. You need to go water cooling or get an EK Elite 360 D-RGB and some IC Diamond 24TIM if you want this cpu to run cooler and not have the temps go out of control on you. Any other AIO is not up to it, no matter how much it cost. It can ran 4x16 3600 CL18 Corsair Vengeance RGB-Pro 3600 CL18 no issues, or Run 2x16 G.Skill Trident Royal Z 4000mhz CL16 B-Die no issues if you are on a Z690 DDR4 board. I would not go past 4400mhz DDR4 on a kit if you want it to run at stock/advertised speeds. But yeah, take my advice on cooling or say hello to 90-100c temps on the core.
