iolo - System Mechanic Ultimate Defense Antivirus Software and Malware, Protection & Privacy

Why doesnt Iolo provide the software key via a link or email like other developers? I waited for shipping and received a box which I thought contained a disc. All that was inside was a piece of paper with the software key! What a waste of packaging and shipping!

i dont like it you have to download in fist place if is not anti virus in you computer any thing ca be. I do haveing use yet i have a hacker and i can not reach them for download. I prefer a CD or DVD to intall and then after jnstall it you can activate.

I purchased from iolo direct and have found that the features from the Pro version are now on this Ultimate version for a lot more money. This is a scam because if you buy the pro version they want you to upgrade to the new version and it is the same as what you already have. They seem to be having the GREED problem. I would not advise purchasing as you wont get what you think, or it wont work for long.

Product interfered with alternate online email access(es).

As a user of Iolo software for more than twenty years, I find that Iolo provides the worst possible customer service. The software I purchased, System Mechanic Ultimate Defense, constantly reminds me to extend my subscription years ahead. When I took advantage of a $9.95 one year extension, Iolo also charged an additional $19.95 for tech support I neither wanted nor used. At my request, my credit card company reversed the $19.95 charge. Iolo then BLACKLISTED me, cancelled my subscription and refused to discuss the matter. Any other software provider must be better, even Microsoft.

This is a good product to use for general maintenance and keep your computer running smoothly, But apon buying this product you will have to activate the product that involves Dealing with a dicey scam to intentionally mess up your email so they can show you a presentation to up sell you on a number of products. Any Good Reputation I have of them has been ruined. B

I really appreciate this products drive cleaners, and the antivirus seems to be keeping the computer in good shape. When it is analyzing or cleaning, you cant do much else on the computer as it seriously slows it down. Sometimes when you open it, or when you install a customary update, it opens the product as though for the first time, and you have to do all the system analyses, etc. In the middle of the day this is really bothersome. It stops your computer in its tracks.

This software used to be for unlimited devices within your home, now, once I added a year, they deactivated the license on all but three of my home computers and all my mobile devices. They no longer state the license terms on their website. This is deceptive and very sneaky. I used to love System Mechanic, not it just hit rock bottom on my list.

This was very easy to install and use. I am pretty advanced when it comes to using computers and laptops so to me, it came as a breeze. I have an older laptop that’s been running slow lately and this immediately starting working on cleaning it up for better performance.
