Bought this for our new Tesla because I was tired of having to have sticky glue on the windshield. We tried the whole just place the transponder on the dash when you need it thing and that was hit or miss. While I dont think the silicon cover is really necessary, as the suction cups and the entire back of the unit is black, it gives everything a sleeker black look inside the cabin, though I usually place it behind my rear view so I cant see it. And I suppose if I ever remove and drop it it provides a bit of protection. I was surprised that it still uses Velcro. Its just that the Velcro is between the transponder and the backing that holds the suction cups on. I suppose this is a design to make it so that you dont have to remove existing Velcro from your transponder. Im pretty neutral on this, but figured it was worth a mention.

I had used the hard plastic ones in the past and they didnt hold up well to interior heat in the summer and were difficult to insert/remove the transponder. This design doesnt require fitting into anything. Other commenters mentioned the suction cup strength- I have had no problems so far and didnt do anything than rinse with water and dried with clean cloth.

Great product. Easy EZ pass instalation. Just would be great if back had up and up matching arrows because it is sometimes hard not to worry my transpotter is suctioned upside down on mirror.

Im a minimalist when it comes to my car and this product helps me keep my EZPASS up without it having to look like an obnoxious beige eye sore from inside or outside of the car. The way I have it installed, you actually now cant even tell that its there. Still can come out easily if I needed it too. Will purchase for other vehicles in my fleet. Highly recommend.
