> 24 hourSo, just know that robots don’t have any suction power like an upright. But, they keep the floors tidy and looking good and the surface dirt and dust and junk picked up. And they gotta map well otherwise, what’s the point. The J7+ does everything it says. Great mapping, great clean up, learning, it’s fast, and very quiet. Just know, you gotta have a good strong vac for the deep clean every month. (We got a Shark Navigator for this part and it rocks.) Best of both worlds. You have a Daily hands-off cleaner and a monthly deep cleaner. Super clean house and you only have to vac 1-2 times a month or less. And your hard floors - will always be swept without picking up a broom. Not cheap but definitely a great way to reduce work without sacrificing the clean. $599 + $198 … we bought some time and effort back.

> 24 hourI really wanted to love the J7+. I researched it for weeks, read countless reviews and everything online was great. Of course there are some negative reviews but in my mind there will always be some. First I have to say I never write negative reviews. But this robot is a big disappointment. I have a dog and two cats and lots of pet fur that needs tending too daily. I’ve had the Roborock S4 max for two years running everyday for upkeep. It does a really good job but it doesn’t have an auto empty station. So, when the J7+ was 25% off. I was happy to upgrade my old robot. Day one: I ran it to create a map of my house. It spent a lot of time banging into everything and got scuffled up on it first run. It didn’t compete the map of my house. The directions say it’ll needs two or three runs to complete a map. So I know what to expect, no problem. Day two: it refuses to clean a 12 square foot area in my kitchen. It’s a a 4 foot wide open area with a single step down into another room. But it stays 3 feet away from the step/cliff. It still doesn’t complete the map of my house and spends most of its time banging into stuff. I notice it rolls up pet fur into what looks like strings of thick hair and leaves them all over my white carpet and it also likes to dump clumps of fur along the edges of my area carpets. Day 3: it still doesn’t complete the map and I have lots of areas on the map that it simply doesn’t go to. It got stuck on an imaginary obstacle on my hardwood floor with absolutely nothing around it. I run my other robot to complete the job and it picks up all that Roomba left behind. Each time it empties itself, it sounds like a jet plan in my house. Seriously a jet plane. Day 4: STILL cannot complete a map. It refuses to go into one bedroom. I pick it up and put in there to start mapping it. It creates a whole new map that can’t be connected to the original map. I have a single level home. It shouldn’t be this difficult to map it. Day 5: I try again, same results. I don’t have anymore patience nor time. I run my other robot and it completes over 2000 square feet in one run effectively and easily. I’m on Amazon writing this review and returning this roomba. Again I really wanted to love this robot. I really wanted to support an American company. I really wanted to believe the reviews. But they’re BS, no wonder it was 25% off. It stinks. Im giving it 3 stars because I feel bad giving it less and it’s better than manually sweeping everyday.

> 24 hourThe navagation and AI on this vacuum are insanly good. IT doesn’t vacuum or have adjustable power levels but it is very quiet and very smart. Would highly recommend to people who have multiple rooms and need a bot smart enough to navigate anywhere and be dependable. Has not got stuck yet.

> 24 hourThe Roomba j7 is fantastic. The suction is only okay and its noisy. But I run it every day and keeps my floors very clean. Thats whats important to me. It deals well with obstacles (our house is very messy). It just goes around them. It tries to go back to spots it missed before it finishes. In a month of usage it only got stuck once. You do have to let it explore the first few times it runs. It gradually builds a map and continues to expand it on every run. It is very noisy when it empties itself into the base and is pretty noisy when cleaning hard floors. Its much quieter cleaning carpets and rugs. The vacuum isnt very powerful. So it doesnt always get everything on the first pass. However, you can run it often and it keeps the floors very clean. I run it in most rooms three times a week. I can also tell it to clean any room that gets messy whenever I want. Right now I only have one Roomba for a two story house. This means I have to carry the machine between floors. It works, but clearly having two machines would be better. I will buy another J7+ when I see it on sale.

> 24 hourWe named her Hazel and she operates out of the Guest Bedroom away from being under foot or in constant view. Having mapped out the entire house, shes ready to head into specific areas (especially after the Grandkids leave) and make the crumbs and tracked-in dirt disappear. My wife has had breathing concerns for the past few years, but with Hazel now having removed 6-years worth of dust-bunnies from underneath the Master Bed, we both noticed a marked improvement sleeping in fresher air after just the first 2 days. Hazel also gets the dust out from under our sofa, coffee table, and leather chairs - and into the back corners of the walk-in closets. Shes much more thorough than the hand-pushed upright (now donated to charity) and dutifully vacuums multiple times a week vs. once a week (if I remembered to vacuum at all...). No turning back now!

> 24 hourI got the Roomba j7+ - this little gem is amazing! Weve been drowning in pet hair for years (my beautiful chocolate lab sheds like crazy). No matter how much I swept up, it was everywhere. Not any more - I set the Roomba up with minimal effort and let it loose! It roamed the house, sweeping up everything it could find. I watched it suck in that pet hair with glee - nothing escaped the Roomba and nothing was tossed up into the air. Intrigued, I explored the app further. After it explores your house completely, I found that I could map the house (you add dividers to the edges of each room), name each room, and even mark some areas (like the pets food bowl area) as an exclusion zone. , I set up 2 schedules - morning for one side of the house and afternoon for the other side. I also set up a Do Not Disturb time. Some great features: *The Roomba will avoid spills and pet waste (like barf). It also detects steps/stairs to prevent a tumble. I watch with great intent the first time and sure enough! It stopped at the top step of the basement stairs. *You can pause a job, even if its in the middle cleaning, and restart it within a certain timeframe. If it goes beyond the timeframe, it will cancel that particular job and you can restart it at any time. *The device empties its own bin when needed. The big bin is on the home base and that can be emptied when full (comes with bags and you can get refills). *If the battery gets low during a cleaning job, it goes back to its base, recharges, and then continues the cleaning job. *You can control the Roomba from the app, even if youre not home. Im really loving this device and cant imagine not having it. My floors are super clean every day. All I do is swifter the floors, or just do a good mopping, whenever its needed. But, dust, dirt, and pet hair are completely gone! Woot, woot!

> 24 hourWe considered the more expensive S9, but decided on the j7 because we primarily have wood floors with some area rugs. We live in a tri-level and have moved the vacuum & stand to each floor for mapped and cleaning. OBSERVATIONS - The cleaning performance exceed our expectations - Quiet when cleaning except when complete the the base suctions the debris out of the j7 It is so quiet that we are surprised to hear it GENTLY bumps into things - we forget it is running - The methodical approach to covering the entire floor is refreshing compared to previous random pattern vacuums. - The mobile app is excellent. It shows a nice graphical representation of the cleaning after completion. I just wish it would show the coverage as it cleans (vs waiting until the end) - It detected and avoid electrical and USB cords. This is especially nice because we forgot what was under the couches & beds (out of sight out of mind). it NEVER ONE got tangled or pulled on the cords. - Faster at cleaning than our old random pattern vacuum. Those would run until they were nearly out of power verse knowing they covered the entire floor. With the mapping this vacuum knows where it needs to clean avoiding unnecessary vacuuming time. - The short squat base fits nicely next to dressers, night stands, and couches. While Roomba recommends space to either side of the base I ignored that recommendation to hid it away from casual viewing. It worked perfectly always finding its way home. - transitions over thresholds without an issue. Wood to carpet, wood to tile, tile to carpet, it never had an issue scaling the threshold. Interestingly it did not scale the padded mat I use at my standing desk. It somehow figured out it was not a threshold and vacuumed around the small pad. Nice! - The attached wall brash was deformed because of the way it was packaged or moved during shipping. I replaced with the included second brush and will try to straighten the brush arm after heating up with a heathen. It is not badly deformed and Im going to try to straighten simply because I have a heathen handy. - The packaging was good with minimal use of non-recyclable materials We are happy with the j7+ and will likely purchased an extra base or two to leave on the different floors of our house.

> 24 hourWe tried out an EvoVac and then a replacement, and then another replacement. All in less than a month. In trying to be all mid-western save a buck about it, I only managed to aggravate myself. Spent the premium for the j7, and a got the self-emptying unit. Wonderful. Unit cleans well and rarely gets into any issues. When it goes back to its base and empties itself, I cant help but to smile. It cleans multiple surfaces well, although the deep (2 in) pile mats it has some difficulties with but it gets them done. Transitions between dark hardwood, light tile or carpet with high contrast lines with no issues. It doesnt scream and go in a circle as it is lost in a geometric pattern on a mat around the kitchen table, it cleans it. It doesnt scream bloody murder that it is going to fall off the edge of the world, when there is a height difference of 1.5 inches between the living room rug and the hardwood. It just works. Carpets are nice and clean, no issues there. Sometimes the single brush will knock a piece of grit elsewhere on the floor instead of directly into the main intake, but it generally gets those on the next pass. It also seems to love to go playing under the kitchen chairs where it will get lost. It will find its own way out eventually but you may want to leave them sticking out enough to help the wee beastie out. Little duder gets smarter if you help out with the after-report. Review the things that are and not obstacles and it seems to do more and more on its own. We dont have pets, so no issues with poo detection, nor have we had it lose its mind with the occasional leaf tracked into the house. Good luck and I hope you have a good experience with the unit like we have.

> 24 hourIt definitely works better than the last robot vacuum we had 7 years ago, but after about 10 days it started having sensor issues, emptying issues, couldnt find home, dog hair wrapped around the front wheel, etc. Familiar problems from the past, but at a higher price tag. Cleaning the vacuums sensors and resetting it seems to resolve the problems for another week or so. I guess I was just expecting less trouble for the price. Going to demo another make/model and keep the winner. Update: we tried a few different brands, and this device was by far the best performer due to the built in camera. It still needs attention every 5 days or so, but it beats vacuuming the old way, no question. If youre not in a hurry, considering waiting to see what other brands come up with once they start integrating cameras as well.

> 24 hourWe have pets, so I got this, so it would avoid them love the self empty. It’s great at avoiding obstacles, but it’s quite a bit noisier than I thought when it empties it sounds like a airplane taking off I would recommend, but do not use at night when you’re sleeping it will wake you up.
