I overdyed a cream-and-black, space dyed cardigan with this jacquard silver grey acid dye. i hate cream (but love white), but wanted to keep the overall color neutral since its a cardigan to go over different outfits. i settled on this silver grey, which is a light, slightly purple gray. i think the purple is what jacquard calls silver. anyway, as cream is warm and silver is cool in color theory i successfully overdyed the cream to a neutral grey. my guess is that you would get a slightly purple gray if youre dyeing on white. but since i was dyeing on cream i got a very neutral grey. ultimately, it helps to know color theory and what colors are mixed into each dye. the latter is hard to know (though you can guess by physically examining the particles of powder dye). the biggest challenge to dyeing is the varying result. the more you know the better you can predict. finally, i recommend that you follow directions to the T. it makes a big difference when you approximate amounts, dont measure temperature, etc. good luck!

THis didnt even come close to dying fabric. Left lots of splotches and ruined my drapes. Trying to be good and buy environmentally friendly products, but this was a complete waste of money. Lesson learned.

I purchased burnt orange for my new swimming suite. My swimming suit was ruined after one use due to to pools overly high chlorine use. I loved my new swimming suit and didnt want to pay another 60 bucks for a new one, instead I bought Jacruard Acid Dye. I followed the directions and my swimming suit looks brand new. GREAT STUFF! I will add a before and after photo later.

Not very effective on nylon line. More of a messy teal color, lots of areas still white, especially after rinsing the line. MAYBE I used too much water, but the directions were kind of vague about the actual amount to use. Plus the product line stated it was a liquid, when in actuality it was a powder: Jacquard Products Acid Dye, Spruce, 5 Fl Oz
