I got this guy as a back up to a must more expensive Kingston I got a while ago ( yes i have like 4 thumb drives/ dropbox/ google drive all to back up work and school research/ etc) This unit works great for most user, the only knock on the unit is not that important but needs to be said, its read and write speeds are slower then the more expensive Kingston thumb drives. However again most people will be ok with the slower drive as long as its not used for something like a media server stick ie play movies in HD off of. in saying that i really have not had a problem with speed for any of my uses including as a media stick. Pros: Price, name brand, would buy again Cons: read/write speeds ( not a problem for most users)

The only complaint I have, and its probably true about most Kingston & PNY and probably other flash sticks, they are VERY SLOW to write, even when in 2.0 compatabilty, drops to about 4mbps, but speedy to read. It serves its purpose, and yes, I will buy it again. I recommend not using for a live OS boot if you expect lots of writes (for swap files, etc), But for storage of files its perfect. Its a tad power hungry on the USB port at 300mw.

where is another 13 GB ? I thought the material is stronger,but also normal.in general,speed is also not very normal, a normal product But I did not understand where 13 GB ?!

I must say Im a bit disappointed with this drive. The price was very reasonable and amazing for a 3.0 drive, but upon benchmarking the drive, I discovered that the write speed was that of a typical USB 2.0 drive. Read speeds are similar to my other 3.0 drives, though. I would recommend it for someone that reads a lot of files, but dont look for quick file transfers to the device.

I might have given this a 5 Star rating if not for following conditions. Its not near as fast as is claimed HOWEVER thats probably because of the Dell Im using. I installed an internal USB 3 PCI-E card in my Dell Optiplex 780 Mini Tower. It may very well be that that the system bus or the card I used is the bottleneck here. Im not tech savvy enough to give you guys a real answer on this. Still, it IS faster than USB 2 thats for sure. Add-On review: As of 06/25/2018 I have come to the conclusion that this would be a very good USB 2 flash drive, but NOT a good USB 3 flash drive. I should have been more critical of it when i first purchased it so I could get my money back. Too late now. Shame on Kingston for releasing this product as labeled. This is the LASt Kingston product I ever buy.

I purchased this for my son to use on his computer for game/other storage. Kingston advertises that this USB has 64GB of storage. But, when he ran a test on it, it only shows 57GB available storage. I understand that a small amount, maybe 1-2GB, might be used for various things by Kingston. But, to use up 7GB of storage on this device is too much. If you advertise 64GB, it should actually have 64GB available storage. This USB works fine as it comes, for storing individual files under 4GB, without having to make any changes in settings. My son had to use Windows command run prompt, to change to NTFS, in order to store individual files that are over 4GB. If a file is over 4GB, the formatting of the USB won’t allow it to be stored, unless you make these changes in settings. The writing speed is fairly fast. He said it reached up to 24.9MBS. Has place on one end to hook to chain or key ring.
