These filters may be a bit expensive, but I like them. I think the quality is excellent. The added section on the top that lets you use a wrench is very important on my vehicle.

Bought this to use for the first oil change in my 2015 Mazda 6 2.5 L. Getting the OEM oil filter off was a REAL pain in the a**. Neither of my filter wrenches could accommodate such a small diameter filter (which did not have a nut welded to the end). Add to that the fact that there isnt much room to work with the oil filter in the 2015 Mazda 6 (theres a small plastic removable cover that exposes an area just large enough to get a tool around the filter, making it very difficult to rotate the filter with a strap-style filter wrench). Maybe that is partly my fault for not using the right tool (a smaller filter wrench I guess?), but I went ahead and purchased this so I would never have to worry about that problem again. This filter came out of the box with a plastic wrap covering the inlet area of the filter, which came in handy when I was handling it with dirty gloved hands and I didnt have to worry about getting anything on the seal or in the filter. Installed the filter along with 0W-20 Mobil 1 Extended Performance Synthetic oil and I will do the following change after 7500 miles. Since the oil and filter are both rated for 10k+ protection, if everything looks good Ill go for 9-10kish on the change after that.

Best oil filter you can buy. Oil stays clean same as any other premium oil filter and this one has a wrench off lug for standard filter types. Internal filter types have wrench off caps but those of us stuck with oil wrenches in tight places dont have to deal with that anymore. Makes oil changes that much easier and faster.
