Even though I used GL-5 LS (limited slip) oil when I changed the rear differential oil in my Toyota Tacoma, it only took one short ride after replacing the old OEM differential oil to determine that something was not right. I heard noises and found that the rear wheels were locking up on sharp turns. So I parked my truck and did not drive it until I determined what was happening. After a fair amount of on-line research, I discovered that this additive is required even if the specified GL-5 LS is used. Concerned if this really would actually resolve the issue, I siphoned out about 7 ounces of the GL-5 LS oil and added Trans-X Posi Trac to the differential. Took my truck for a drive and the difference was noticeable after about 10 minutes. It does what its supposed to do. Live and learn.

This trans-x limited slip additive works very, very well in place of factory additives/modifiers. I had put this fluid in my 04 Chevy Express 3500 with the big ole 14 bolt rear end, and all the chattering that was going on was taken care of after throwing this stuff in during a fluid change. Its very well priced and seems to work just as well as comparable OEM fluids.

Good stuff! Here is how i used it: How to change the differential fluid in a 2012 Dodge Challenger 3.6 liter. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HJ6zoGZy5k

Great additive for my 02 Explorer w/ limited slip differential. Keeps the clutches from chattering.

Installed new gears which I purchased here and since my 67 GTO has Safe-T-Track, it requires this additive. Works as it should, just pour the complete contents into the rear end prior to filling with fluid. This helps it mix itself when you add the diff. fluid (which I also purchased here).

I have used this product for many years in 1998 Ford Explorer XLT, V6 engine, auto transmission and does exactly what it is supposed to do in a posi-traction differential which require a limited slip additive. Differentials require service every couple of years (3-5) depending on use and mileage, as the lubricant thickens and becomes black, so its time for rear end service. Once removing the rear end cover proceed to drain and clean, apply a new rear end cover gasket to the cover and seal the differential. I squeeze in a tube of this stuff and fill with 3 quarts of the recommended synthetic gear oil for your car or truck, until the lubricant starts to pour out of the fill hole. I have never had any problems, no leaks, no noises, no shuttering, just a smooth sailing ride with something so simple and easy as part of routine maintenance every few years. Check the differential every year, fill if needed. Happy motoring!
