my 3 year old who loves to cook loves this set. They are made of a rubbery plastic, very cute.

Cute set, I really like that it includes plates. However, it must be a manufacturing error, but the ketchup has something stuck inside of it. Its sealed, so I cant get it out. Its really strange to hear my son shaking the ketchup...real ketchup doesnt rattle! I have to keep reminding him of that.

This product was amazing!. Very durable, colorful and fun for kids to play with!

Even my adult children were impressed. My grandchildren learned what a potato chip and an ice cream sandwich is, their parents dont let them eat them!

bought this along with a larger BBQ stand. The food looks real, appears well made and just the right size for 3 and 5 year old hands.

I was glad to give the Learning Resources New Sprouts Picnic set to my oldest (3 years old) daughter, because shes really been enjoying the food pretend play lately after getting some new food items on her birthday. Most of what she has are the cheaper, discount store items, and this looked to be a cut above that. The food items and plates are, as all the food has kind of a soft, squishy quality to it, and isnt made out of thin plastic with big mold seams all over it. The plates are nice, and the mustard and ketchup bottles are really cool, with a sting that comes out when you squeeze them (getting the string back in is not as simple...expect lots of daddy/mommy resets from these). The real problem with this set is the basket. Described as a durable plastic basket with handles on Amazons description, its really anything but that. The basket itself is fine (but does have that cheap plastic construction feel to it), but the handles are especially weak. Two of the ends that go into the basket have snapped off, making it more or less useless (or at least prone to coming out and dumping all of your food on the floor if youre not careful). For the price of this set, I was expecting something that would last longer than three weeks.

Cute food, but the paint began coming off of the hot dogs within a couple of weeks of light use. Not quality enough to recommend...we will avoid this brand and stick to Hape or Haba foods that hold up.
