Well worth the money! If you like Lego builds your going to enjoy this one. Not-only do you get the Space Shuttle you also get the Hubble telescope as well. It’s a well put together set. You can appreciate the time and technology and all the small details that went into the design. One down side is the stickers, but you can’t have everything. This is one I would enjoy building again.

This was my favorite Lego build, right up there with Apollo Saturn V!

The Discovery is an expensive kit but very detailed and seemingly very accurate. A nine year old who is experienced -- and organized -- and very familiar with Legos can build it in an evening. It is wonderful for a kid to build when able to then see the actual Discovery craft in person at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Incredible connection! Lego does a magnificent job on the NASA spacecraft. The insides are quite accurate as one builds the vessel up.

It was such a good set and easy to build.but It’s a long time to build but it’s worth it. No wonder it was 18+ it has landing gear and movable flaps and interior cockpit .

Highly recommend this Lego set for NASA fans. Most complicated build I have worked on. Enjoyed it and the end product.

El servicio de Amazon fue conforme, llegó en el tiempo planificado y bien embalado. La caja presentaba ciertas marcas por manipulación (no sabría a quien atribuirlo), pero si no eres coleccionista de cajas no te importará. El número de bolsas y manuales llegaron intactos y en la cantidad correctas. La experiencia de armado fue muy buena, hasta que llegué a la bolsa 16 y faltaba una pieza. En este caso la responsabilidad era directa de LEGO, así que me puse en contacto con su servicio al cliente quienes gentilmente me enviaron la pieza faltante sin costo alguno en un tiempo de 15 días (lo enviaron de Alemania a Perú por correo regular, por lo que considero fue un tiempo decente). Como habrán leído en otros comentarios, las piezas de cobertura del telescopio Hubble llegaron también con rayones de fábrica. Según leí en algún foro, parece ser debido a cómo manufacturan dicho tipo de pieza. No obstante -en lo personal- el resultado final hace que este detalle pase a segundo plano. Resumiendo: Pros: -Te divertirás armándolo. -El nivel de detalle es muy bueno. -Si te falta alguna pieza, LEGO te la repone. Contras: -Pegar los stickers plateados supone todo un reto de precisión y paciencia. -Defectos de fábrica en algunas piezas. Sugerencias: -Disfruten la experiencia, documenten el armado (fotos), observen los detalles mientras lo construyen (pues una vez completado, salvo que lo desarmen de nuevo, ya no volverán a ver las piezas internas). -Cuídenlo de la exposición al sol, pues tiene piezas blancas y con el tiempo tienden a ponerse amarillas. Lo recomendaría a otros: sí, sin duda (es una maqueta impresionante).

I finished this build today. The major problem that I had was not paying attention to step 129. This step is critical for the front landing gear. I noticed immediately that something was wrong when the pieces were in place in step 133, but was clueless as to what was wrong. Taking apart everything to get to the problem was hard because of the way everything fit and I had to force pieces apart to see where I went wrong. Once I saw my error and fixed it, the front landing gear worked perfectly. There were other errors that I made along the way, but in the next steps, realized them and fixed them. This is an indeed challenging project and very gratifying when it is done! I am totally amazed about how the Lego people construct these models! I pre-ordered their new pickup truck! I wish that they would STOP having the instructions with a BLACK background. The areas that show the pieces needed for each step are TOO SMALL. I have to use a magnifying glass to see them. I am 66 years old! Please include the elderly in future product instructions!

Ive always loved Legos, but this set is absolutely beautiful. My son and I loved building it - but the detail and all of the additional items really make this something to put on display. Its of course in his bedroom - but heck Id have it on my desk as well. Lego - you outdid yourself on this one. If you love Legos and love space, then this is the set you need. As Jim Cramer would say Buy, buy, buy, buy... lol. Remember the days of shaking the box and immediately knowing it was Legos - this box is heavy, and man does is shake nice!

Bought this for our Lego loving grandson. He is almost 9 years old. He had it put together in a short period of time. ALL the pieces were there! Getting the lighting kit for his birthday.
