LEGO Ideas 21317 Disney Steamboat Willie Building Kit (751 Pieces)

Great project, but 10yo and up For experienced Lego builders. This is not an introductory level project. And 750 pieces, you’re going to need patience.

My daughter is 52 and she and her daugter are avid Disney fans....they go yearly to Disney World for a week and sometimes a couple 3 dayers. She commented not long ago about the fact that why when it comes to presents does no one realize she would love Disney...why only for kids? So this Christmas I surprised her with 2 Disney gift cards and the Steamboat Willie Lego set with moving parts....this is her absolute favorite Mickey character. SHE WAS BEYOND DELIGHTED.

Box came damaged

It is a December Birthday gift but I already know that this was on his Wishlist so he will totally dig it!

So fun to make

The build was fun and pretty simple. As a Disney fan I freaked out when. I saw this.

This set looks just like the boat in the original Disney classic cartoon Steamboat Willie. Besides the Boat, this set includes 2 minifigures (Micky and Minnie Mouse), a bird, a minifigure display stand and lots of accessories. This boat doesnt much of an interior, but it does include what is probably the most iconic room in the history of Disney, which is the room with Micky and the big steering wheel. Inside the lower part of the build there is an amazing built in mechanism that makes the steam pipes move up and down and the paddles rotate when you push the boat foreword or backward. This set is a very easy build for experienced Lego collectors, but some Lego fans might find building this a little difficult. This set is a great display set and I would definitively recommend getting this if you are a big Disney fan!

$145 is a lot for the final product

Wov this is a beautiful Lego set. Its a collectible, and is now occupying a proud display piece area in our living room. moving steam pipes, rotating paddles, black and white, so beautiful. The steam pipes moving is a bit tricky, but be patient - it works. I am not sure how its all falling apart from some reviewers, for us it worked perfectly fine. This is a one of a kind lego set - collect it before it becomes a rarity to find and is sold for 4x its price.
