The build is only somewhat challenging, but it was fun to put together due to the special engineering of this contraption. The Thwomp falls and catapults sparky (flame ball guy )after it passes the center pole 3 times when Mario goes back and forth on the scull raft. Its cute as it resembles the play model in the video game and the Legos really suits the early Mario 8-bit/16-bit aesthetics. Great for kids, nerds, Otakus and Gamers who already have the Mario Starter kit.

I bought this for my 6 year old son, he absolutely loved it! This LEGO Super Mario series has the instructions in an app. Thie Thwomp drop expansion set is a must have with the LEGO Super Mario Bowsers Castle Boss Battle Expansion Set. The box contain 393- Piece Set. Thwomp and 2 Lava Bubbles Figures,plus a pole for the the Thwomp to slide down. This set is fun to play with and very interactive. Highly recommend for kids who love legos or Mario Bros.

Disliked needing an iPhone for instructions and age appropriate said 6 plus Grandson’s father needed an hour plus to assemble. Cost $150 plus for a toy that a child couldn’t assemble.

I bought this for my grandson who collects the Mario Legos to put together for his expansion sets.

I was impressed with some of the mechanical techniques used in this set. Definitely a cool build. My 7 year old got a bit frustrated once or twice but she was able to do the whole thing in an hour or so. She really loved putting it together and playing with it. There are several rare and interesting pieces in this set too, including a 32 axel, which seems a bit too long to not be fragile, but fit into the set great.

Wonderful, authentic looking addition to the Mario starter course. Fair price compared to other Lego Mario sets.
