All these air purifiers advertise as whisper quiet.... which sounds like it would be good. But would you want someone whispering in your bedroom at night? No. You can definitely hear it run at night. It sounds like a quiet room fan. Normally that would be fine for us, but we have a different brand of air purifier in another room that doesnt make ANY noise. And thats what Im going after. Other than that, it was nice. So Im returning it and finding one that is even more whisper quiet. This one is advertised as going down to 24dB and so I found one that goes down to 17dB (BlueAir). The absolutely silent one I have in another room is a cheap Bissel MyAir. I really like it. Its silent, and there is very little dust in that room, and the filter gets dirty. So it appears to work. But its cheap and has a so-so review from Consumers Reports. So thats why Ive decided to try this BlueAir one instead (what Im returning this one for). Its more expensive, has better filtering technology. But I do really want it to be quiet. So if youre looking for a CHEAP and silent air purifier that works good enough, Id recommend the Bissel MyAir.

I do really like this air filter! I have been impressed with how clean the air in my house is and the smell (I have 4 dogs who come in and out so lots of pet allergens). I read some reviews where the air filter lasted 3 months BUT I say it really only lasts 1-2 months at least with all of the dogs I have. You can vacuum the filter in between filter changes and that seems to really help prolong them!

Everyday I walk into my room when it’s on, I feel a sudden relief with my allergies, this keeps my room feeling so clean of dust and allergens. Do not hesitate to get this, it’s amazing.

I have one in each room and was shocked with the amount of dust on it these first five months of use. I researched a little more and it does say to vacuum the filters monthly to allow them to work better! REMINDER VACUUM FILTERS MONTHLY! Has helped up my kids and I with our allergies so much. Definitely buying one for the living room! 10/10 recommend!

This is okay for temporarily removing odors in the home. You have to run it for awhile to tell a difference, but I do like the premise of it and that it’s cleaning the air. Also, great price.

I dont know if this is cleaning the dust in the air as there are 5 of us and the dusting seems about the same, but OH MY this does great on cooking smells. Fish usually lasts a few days in the air but by the morning that air was cleaned, that was very impressive. We do have a cat and dog and the air does seem maybe a little better but not sure. But seems to be great for smells so it will stay. I can say, I am glad i bought it. For those reading this, please note by house has an Open plan so the area to clean is really big so it might be doing overtime on cleaning. I will have to do a dust test and get back and put it in my review. But glad I got it and it is quiet, if you like white noise this is great for that sound.

I try not to buy things from Amazon because it is a slippery corporate slope and Ol Cowboy Jeff is happily destroying the small business that America claims to love. That said, I get that it is a very useful service for many folx, especially those who cant leave their houses, which was all of us in spring 2020. (Funny how that time hasnt resulted in more accommodations for folx with disabilities!) With my guilt-fueled pontificating about Amazon complete, I will now admit that I bought this to bring with me on a cross-country train ride in the summer of 2020! My partner and I were moving from East Coast to West and we decided that taking a 3-day Amtrak was less virally terrifying than flying. In retrospect this seems a bizarre decision warped into life by quarantine brain, but it worked because we could bring our bikes and LOTS of bags with us for very little money which would not have been possible on an airplane. We managed to fork out enough for a private room on the California Zephyr (thanks pandemic prices!) and my belief was that this would be a totally safe situation IF we had an air purifier on board. Reader, I was... misguided. This is a big object! Which I wouldve known if my panicked mind had taken five seconds to read the size specifications. There was no way I was going to get it into my duffle bag, let alone set it up in the Kleenex box of an Amtrak sleeper compartment. Also, if I had managed to bring along my air safety friend, in retrospect it probably wouldve tripped the break for the whole train car. So, the round Levoit went into the cross-country crap delivery box although really I shouldve just sold it rather than paying for its weight to follow me to California. However! I was glad my fear-shredded mind decided not to let it go because the first month we lived in the Bay Area, this air purifier was absolutely clutch for making our bedroom sleepable during all the fires. It did not protect us from COVID at any point, but it cleared out slithery window-breaching smoke like a rockstar. I was impressed. Suddenly the size seemed too small for such power. Several years later it is a beloved member of our house of droids (including a keep-warm coffee pot that hisses, a vacuum that burps, and a rice cooker that squeals.) It handily clears out the smell when Ive accidentally left the window open above my next-door neighbors weed smoking spot. It also keeps our room from reeking of farts after a night of post-beans sleep. Terrific purchase in the long run. I make sure to dust it regularly and pat it affectionately every day.

My partners allergies have been flaring up pretty badly over the last couple months with the weather changes and our shedding cat. I bought the Levoit after one rough night and he’s barely sneezed in 2 days.

I have 3 cats and so my room gets so dusty and furries flying all over making my sneeze. Been using this about 3 weeks and have been loving it and looked at the filter to see all the craziness that it has been sucking up. Its perfect for my room. Definitely havent been sneezing so much!
