> 24 hourThese days, any 100/1000 switch will get the job done. This particular one is priced double than most competitors, but why? Honestly, I dont know but I prefer Linksys over other brands so I ponied up and burnt some extra money on the name / color. What can I say, it works. It is missing some crucial features, such as the ability to identify if a device is connected at 100 or 1000. Then again, it is a plug & play cheap home emergency solution. If any of my friends were to ask if I would recommend it, I would point them to a cheaper alternative that does the same thing or more, but for me I just prefer sticking with Linksys as I like to believe they learned something from Cisco many years ago.

> 24 hourHad my house wired for Cat6 Gig-E and threw this in the entertainment center to provide hard-wired connections for the 4k TV and a few game consoles/devices -- it works perfectly. Ive had another one of these in my office for 2 years and it has worked without reboot or issue the entire time. Ive been through enough Netgears in my life to know that equipment is not for me. Also had crap luck with Amped Wireless over a long period of time (1+ year plus) -- the Linksys and Asus equipment has lasted for me so far and this piece of hardware is no different. The ONLY thing I wish this had/did was different color LEDs when there was a 1Gbit connection vs 100mbps or lower. Some other switches do this and I like it, but as long as this works smoothly and gives me great speed, I can live without the color change. Its just a nerdy sense of satisfaction item for me.

> 24 hourI need a switch because my cable TV provider issued a new set top device that used an ethernet cable instead of coaxial. Rather than sacrifice a connection directly into my smart TV, I bought this switch. Sometimes these Amazon reviews are a curse, causing information overload = plus the crush of too many divergent opinions. But after reviewing a number of similar items I found many reviewers report that some of them are falsely described as gigabit devices when their actual labeled speed is much less. Thats why I went with Linksys. Its a well made component from a reputable manufacturer. The product is a little more expensive, but worth it in my book.

> 24 hourThis switch replaced a very old but still functioning Linksys 10/100 switch that was plugged into my new gigabyte 4 port router. The slower switch was slowing down the router ports so I decided to upgrade the switch to the same speed switch. I plugged my slower devices into the switch, an Ooma telephone system and a Cisco power line adapter that feeds a wireless access point for my 3 Roku streaming video units. The SE3005 has automatic priority for streaming devices (good) but did not recognize the power line connection as streaming and slowed down all my Rokus to the same speed as my Ooma internet telephone (not good). I switched the power line adapter back to the main router and the problem went away.

> 24 hourWe installed this on for our Administrative Assistant computer. We have an old building and limited wiring. This switch allowed us connect the printer and other hardware easily. It was done in 3 minutes.

> 24 hourThis review is for the 8 port switch. High quality materials, professional appearance. Im using at home/small home business office environment but it would be equally at home in an office office. When first connected, I saw 10% of the speeds I was expecting on my primary device and there is no way for the user to configure QOS or priorities. Not sure why this made a difference, but heres what I did: disconnected and turned off all network devices. Power cycled the switch. Connected my internet connection in the first port. My primary desktop connected to the second port. My bitcoin miner connected to port 8. I will have other computers and miners connected down the road but for now thats all. Powered everything back on and WOW! Ping times and download/upload speeds are actually FASTER than before I installed the switch. I havent experimented with Skype yet but regular VOIP calls using Ekiga and SFLphone are just as clear and reliable as theyve always been. If youve read my other reviews on Amazon, you know Im really stingy with my stars but this switch is absolutely awesome. Well done, Linksys!

> 24 hourWorks exactly as it should. Simple Plug-and-Play. Could not be any simpler! Now have my entrainment center hard wired. And a free/empty port to plug in another something. No more lag in gaming and watching movies on smart TV. Even being used at the same time.

> 24 hourShipped in less than two day. Works great exactly what I needed it for, to keep desktop and laptop both hard wired to ethernet while at home. Speeds stay fast even with the splitter.
