Loctite 29513 Blue 246 High Temperature Medium Strength Thread Locker, 450 degrees F Maximum Temperature, 10 mL Bottle

Perfect for engines.

Not much to say really. I wanted a thread locker that was going to remain strong at up to 300F. this 246 stuff claims to go up to 450F and I have no reason to disbelieve that. My jam-nut is still tight after 2 months on/off heat and vibration going from room temp to 2-300F.

Watch out! The 50ml Bottle is shown and was expected, not the 10ml received.

the picture clearly shows a 50ml bottle only if you read the discription closely it says 10ml which is too expensive for this. worst is i cannot return it. Very misleading.

Yes, the bottle youre buying is the small size but I think price is reasonable for that size. Loctite 246 is for high temp applications, making it a better choice vs regular medium strength blue threadlocker for applications on engines. Ive had bolts with the regular blue threadlocker come loose when used on my Harley engine.

High temperature blue Loctite. Why they need to make so many version is bewildering, and the descriptions are vague and overlapping. There must be a more specific use for each product but they don’t really tell you what it is.

Applied to gas block set screws. Holding tight hundreds of rounds later.

Heat is the enemy of Locktite joints so using the high temperature variety helps keep things secure. However, intentionally heating the joint for easy disassembly becomes less effective, so use only when joints are exposed to a high temperature environment.

I used this on a remote control airplane engine muffler that I temperature check and the temp was within spec for this product but the muffler constantly came loose.

Great to use in transmission and differential plugs.
