Loctite 518 Gasket Sealant 6 mL Tube, Red (2096062) (Packaging may Vary)

I used this Gasket Maker on the joint between the cylinder and the crank case when replacing the piston and cylinder on a Poulan chainsaw. Loctite 518 was recommended by a lot of people which I why I bought this particular brand. It was easy to use and seems to have worked because the chainsaw has good compression now.

In my opinion this is the best gasket maker you can use. Because it’s anabolic it does not set up till the part is put togeather.

Checked the shelf life on lockouts website, the Po product I received was over the shelf life of one year

Used this to seal the surface of my oil pan (no oil pan gasket). The product is very forgiving, was more than enough for one oil pan, and the one to two minute tack time worked out perfectly for me. Managed to finish the pan job before going to bed and with the four hour cure time was ready to go the next morning. I would definitely purchase this product again.

We rebuilt a lot of gearboxes were the cases are bolted together without a gasket; a metal-to-metal joint. This sealant is perfect for this and never lets us down. Very easy to use and will clean off with solvents and a rag if you need to remove it. It is a bit soft setting, so it doesnt dry out and crack. Excess that gets squeezed out of the joint will not separate and wind around inside the gearbox like silicone.

Use it in VW engine building, great.
