Madeline

A delightful classic (60-years plus) you will love if you love diminutive children, Paris and art, the French language (even though my book is in English), plan to take your child to Paris one day, and if you want your child to see life as an adventure. I know a little one named after this book, so I knew I had to start collecting books about Madeline. The art and story will not disappoint even if youve never had your appendix out.

Remember this book from 40yrs ago. Love it and the style

I ordered without realizing its an abridged board book (my mistake). Even so, I do feel as if the translation is a little odd and it can be hard for my three year-old to follow. Nevertheless, the illustrations are still lovely, although Id have liked to see more of the full color illustrations rather than mainly the yellow-beige ones.

I used to read this to my daughter, several times a night before bedtime (I ended up memorizing it), and now I bought it for my grand-daughter. Great book for little girls. I can say that because my son never cared for this book. He liked Babar and the Cat in the Hat, and W the Pooh.

Such a delight....old house in Paris, all covered with vines...even the opening is intriguing! And the story is a French charmer!

I gave this as a gift to my niece. She loves the sweet artwork and strong story of Madeline in the girl’s school, as I once loved it. Perfect for girls (and boys!)
