excellent light for the field, very rugged

Really nice light for finishing up projects that run into the darkness, also great for car camping! Should have pulled the trigger on this one much sooner!

Its nice to have different levels of light. Was better then expected.

If you want bright, this is the one for sure. Its a little bigger than i expected, but thats my fault, all in all this is one beautiful piece of equipment.

Has adjustments for brightness. Very durable. Fell off my 6 ladder a few times.

I love it so much, so powerful and Bright enough when I work at night.

Pros: Uses Makita batteries you already have (I am assuming that this is why you would buy it). Light is bright and covers a lot of area just like you would expect from a work light. No cord to get tangled around car parts or building materials. My best use is when you just need the work light but dont want to break out the extension cord for a 5 minute job. Cons: A bit heavier than a standard plug in light, but it is built like a tank. The base doesnt unscrew from the light. I assumed it did with the two screws on each side but they are for adjusting the angle, not breaking it down. Sometimes, if you have two people, you have one person holding the light and it would be easier and lighter without the base.

This is the best worklight ever! Battery powered, electricity powered… you got them both with this. Perfect for job sites , camping, power outages. Tripod for the light is extra and sold separately . 3 light brightness settings, and you can easily lock and unlock what position you want the light . Go get this!!

After reading the very few reviews for this newly released product, I thought this light would be very bright. At full power (3000 Lumens) it is equivalent to about two 100 watt incandescent bulbs, which is not very bright. For less than $90 more, you can buy the Makita DML809 (10,000 Lumens) which is over three times as bright. Spend the extra money and buy the DML809 on Amazon. This low power 3000 Lumens light seems to be very will built and well designed, but for the large size it is, the light brightness (lumens) is very unimpressive. I would need several to properly light up a 15 ft. X 15 ft. room to see good details for painting, or working on my tractor outside. Im sending this back to exchange for the Makita DML809 higher lumens model.

If you use Makita tools, you know how well they work. If you dont, Im still willing to tell you about this light. Because I care. If you need a bright light that lights up an area, get this product. Its bright, casts a lot of light, better than decent battery life, and is a little heavy. I like that. It wont move. I didnt buy their stand. I bought a Coleman lantern stand that goes up to 8 and has a base that you can make wider or more narrow. Plus, less than $50, so theres that.
