May Flash Wireless Wii U Pro Controller Adapter for PC USB

> 24 hourThis device allows up to four Wii U Pro Controllers to connect to the PC and interact as human interface devices, which is perfect for general PC games. The controllers react to the PC without delay and without a hassle for setup. Just plug in the device to a USB port and let it seek for any controllers, just like a Wii (U). I have even tested it with the Afterglow Wii U Pro Controller, a third-party decice, which would not be recognized by traditional Bluetooth communication, unlike the official Wii U Pro controller. Nevertheless, regardless of the brand, the controller operates perfectly. In addition, the adapter allows the controller to operate as an Xinput device, which is very useful for games requiring the official Microsoft controller. One adapter will only allow one controller connected in this mode, but, for the majority of PC games which use only one Xinput gamepad, its not a problem. The controller still interacts and emulates the Microsoft Xbox controller, from the thumbsticks right down to the triggers. There may be methods to connect the controller to the PC, and such techniques simply require a Bluetooth adapter and the right drivers. However, when I could not get my Afterglow to be recognized by my adapter, I veered to this solution instead, and I do not regret it. Even the light-up LED feature on my third-party controller functions with no fail, and I would not consider any other method to attempt, given the money invested and the payoff from the devices reliable functionality.

> 24 hourThis works as advertised with a minor issue. I updated to the latest firmware (released February 2015) and lost the ability to use the Home button at all. In X-Input mode this used to emulate pressing the XBox button on an XBox controller. I contacted Mayflash about this and they do not intend to bring back the function of the Home button. On the other hand, you can hold the + and A/B buttons to swap the mapping of the A/B and X/Y buttons to match the placement of the XBox controller or match the letters on the controller.

> 24 hourPlug it in, install the driver from the CD or website, and use the sync buttons to pair a controller just like on the Wii U itself. All the button letters are mapped to be consistent with on-screen prompts made for Xbox controllers, which means that the positions are different. That can take some getting used to in assassins creed, for example, where the controls are displayed according to position, but I prefer having the letters consistent, in general.

> 24 hourThe Wii U Pro Controller is a great piece of hardware: responsive, sleek, and cleverly designed. Unfortunately, they are a part of the Wii U, which has disappointed newcomers and diehards alike with its lack of software. The Wireless Wii U Pro Controller to PC USB Adapter (manufactured by Mayflash) is an effort to salvage some usability from the good parts of this stillborn hardware package. Where the Wii U is a flaming ball of human waste careening towards the planet, the Wii U Pro Controller is a ragtag drilling team, inexplicably drafted despite their violent criminal pasts to cut the Wii U in half (Aerosmith is tangentially involved.) Their equipment: the Wireless Wii U Pro Controller to PC USB Adapter. In short, it takes one of the few really good features of the Wii U and breathes new life into it by taking it away from the Wii U and employing it elsewhere. Easy install, low power consumption (unlike Microsofts 360 Controller adapter, if you remember THAT failure) and sleek design make this one of the best third-party accessories on the market--especially if you like couch coop and are a PC gamer.

> 24 hourI gotta say at first I was hesitant, The build quality is amazing, Instructions were simple, I got my Wii U Pro Controller up and working on my PS3 in less than a minute, and the most amazing thing out of all. It works FLAWLESSLY. I have not disconnected the adapter, and I dont think it will work without it, but thats Okay.

> 24 hourif you have used the Wii Pro Controler on Wii U, already you know its a great controller. Like the wireless pc receiver for xbox 360 controller, the device works the same way. I found the device self installs in windows, is recognized as a game controller. Not issues reconfiguring mapping using a program such as Pinnacle Game Profiler. Not compatible for Wii remote. If you are interested in the wiimote, I recommend the Wireless Sensor DolphinBar. Also a great product.

> 24 hourThis is much easier than trying to connect the Wii U Pro controllers through whatever Bluetooth driver your computer has. The adapter works exactly as advertised. Direct Input for up to 4 controllers or Xinput for 1 controller works without any problems. There is no delay in button response. A lot of games however only support Xinput, so some controller mapping software is needed in order to use Direct Input. Drivers are available with a mini-cd and from their website.

> 24 hourI bought this device so I could use my Wii U Pro Controllers with my Mac. Ive been using it for a while now and it works great for that purpose, assuming you have it set to Dinput mode. Just push the sync button on the device and any controllers you wish to connect and youre pretty much set. There is one minor issue with the way it reports axis information. The x-axis on the right analog stick is reported as a third axis on the left stick and the right stick only gets the y-axis. This is not a problem for games that allow detailed configuration of the controller, but some games may not work properly if they try to detect the sticks and dont let you set them up manually. I had this same problem with another Mayflash adapter I got several years ago. Not sure why they keep getting this wrong, but for my purposes it is not a problem. I would give the device a 5-star rating if it werent for this issue.

> 24 hourDoes exactly as advertised here, its a no-nonsense PC adapter for your Wii U Pro controllers. There are some oddities with its direct input mode which render it incompatible with Steam - it will detect that you have a controller plugged in, and you can even navigate around the menus with the dpad / analog sticks, but you cant change the configuration at all and it accepts no other controller inputs. I suspect this may have something to do with how the adapter presents itself in direct input mode, and how steam expects to receive controller input. Steam does not automatically load a user profile for this controller either, so I suspect that nobody else has figured this out and that im not the only one with the problem. If you were planning to use this device with Steam Big Picture mode (say, for in-home streaming and multiple Wii U Pro controllers, for example), this will not work for you. Steam only recognizes it and accepts input from it in xinput mode, which only allows you to use one controller per adapter. It is 100% functional as an xinput device, all xinput compatible software sees it and accepts it as an xinput controller in that mode. As shipped, the button mapping is 1:1 (ie: A=A, B=B, X=X, Y=Y), even though Microsoft and Nintendo place these buttons in different locations on the controller. A firmware update released in February of this year allows you to press a button combination on the controller in order to reverse the mappings, which places the buttons back where youd expect them to be. The software couldve been a little more intuitive, though - I couldnt get it to work on my primary computer, and their directions left me wondering if I was just doing something wrong. So, heres what you have to do: Download the firmware updater from maysofts website, and run it as administrator. Youll see a single greyed out button that says update firmware. Unplug the device, and set it to xinput mode. Press and hold the sync button, and keep it held as you plug it in. If you did it right, Windows will detect a different device than usual, and the red light on your adapter will NOT light up. At this point, the update firmware button on the software will be clickable, and you can proceed to update the firmware. Leave it plugged in until the software tells you that the update was completed, it shouldnt take long. If this process exactly as I described doesnt work for you, something went wrong in the process and your only real choice is to try it on a different computer, which can be inconvenient or simply not possible for some. Since its a firmware change on the device and not a software update on your OS, once updated, the button combination will work to change the button layout no matter what computer its plugged into, which is nice. With this update, the controller can be considered to be completely interchangeable with every other Xinput device on the market, and no longer requires its own special button mappings. I previously gave this adapter 4 stars, but now that theyve updated it, I believe its worth 5 stars.

> 24 hourI wish it was a bit cheaper (or just cheaper shipping) but its still worth it. It works flawlessly! Dark Souls 1 & 2 play so much better and the buttons are mapped properly, plus it makes plenty of other games (such as every game by The Behemoth) quite a bit easier too. This is definitely worth it if you only have console controllers, and in my opinion the WiiU Pro Controller is a thousand times better than the 360 controller so its just that much better.
