These are awesome. These link seamlessly I believe it would be accurate to say, with Echo Dot 3rd Gen. I have not yet used one with 2nd Generation Echo Dot but 3rd Gen is childs play just about. You download their app; follow the enclosed directions and youre halfway there. You then open the Alexa app (I have an i-Phone 5 mind you; and then it is ALMOST intuitive though intuitive is relevant. I have a background in personal computers starting with Windows 3.0 and including DOS 5.0 that I feel is useful in configuring things. I use to upgrade computers when you had Legacy cards that required jumping the pins in the days before but leading up to PnP [Plug n Play} where things pretty much are today. The point is for those familiar only with modern handheld devices there MIGHT be some confusion, but NOT necessarily. Very simple really but it can get confusing and possibly appear the device is not working right. These are awesome. Great price, they make it EASY for the end-user as far as Im concerned. Up and running in no time. I dont see where these do less than the higher priced alternatives. If the competitors have somehow made it easier to connect maybe they figured out how to connect to Alexa [an Amazon Echo Dot] for example without having to do anything at all. In summary there are two phases involved in order to connect. 1st follow the instructions using the app for a smart speaker; maybe Google; but definitely Amazon Echo Dots 3rd Generation which is what I am raving about and cannot say enough good things about here. Once you follow the directions and the WiFi plug is on the network Meross configures for you you go to Alexa App on a Dot hook it up; intuitive literacy required. Best I can sum it up. Bravo! 12 Stars or better! I am probably 100% certrain you wont be disappointed. If you are Amazon has an excellent; definitely no two ways about it among the top 3 best, best return policies known to human beings and machines alike; pretty sure. More than a decade of experience with Amazon with LOTS of purchases; very few problems and the problems I DID have have ALWAYS been resolved to my satisfaction. A happy ending never fails except among the most bitter of living creatures. Addendum: Follow the instructions that come with these plugs and you will most likely NOT regret your purchase. I close with this piece of advice: Careful purchasing too many smarplugs from different manufacturers. If you plan on buying a lot of them; stick with one or two different brands and that wil reduce the number of apps you wil have to load to your phone or compicate matters with Alexa

I have numerous Meross Smart Plugs throughout my house. They have never failed to work for me and interface easily with Alexa. I highly recommend Meross Smart Plugs if you are looking to automate.

Once I got the hang of it f the steps they were pretty straightforward. I like the fact that they are compatible with Alexa. I love that you can use them all at the same time especially if they are connected to lamps throughout the house. I’d recommend this product!

They work well, but only after installing the Meross app. They are not recognized by the Smart Life app that all of my other smart plugs (3 different brands) work fine on; its a pain to have to use 2 apps for the same purpose. And the Meross app is NOT intuitive, I had to contact their Support Team to figure out how to create schedules once the app was installed; again, the Smart Life app is very straightforward and user friendly.

Easy to setup and works as described

I like these switches because they are relatively easy to set up and they have worked perfectly with Alexa. The setup went basically like this: I scanned the QR code in the instruction sheet. This took me to the Google Play store, and to the Meross app. I created a Meross account with an secondary email address I use for these kinds of things and randomly generated password from Nortons website. I plugged in one of the plugs and followed the instructions in the Meross app. Note that at one step, the app will attempt to make a direct wifi connection from the plug to your phone (android phone, not sure about iPhones). If the direct connection succeeds then you just move through the remaining steps to completion but if the connection cant be established, there is a pop up in the Meross app to make the connection manually. Once the plug was setup, I went into the Alexa app, searched the Skills section for Meross and authenticated to my new Meross account from within the Alexa app. At first I thought I was providing my Amazon account info to Meross, which I just was not going to do, but after a second I realized I was providing my Meross account info to Amazon and I have no problem doing that. Once the skill was enabled, the Alexa app saw the plug and integration was complete. Once the first of 4 plugs was done, configuration time for the 3 remaining plugs was about 1 minute per plug. I then plugged these in around the house and plugged stuff in; fans, lamps. They work flawlessly. 4 plugs for 25 bucks is a great value in my mind. I saw 1 plug for 25 bucks and you get 4 of these plugs for that price.

What drew me to these versus some other smart outlets was the ability to understand where they are installed geographically and plan a schedule based on sunrise or sunset. Anytime Ive used timers Ive constantly had to modify the times. Is it daylight savings time or not? Is it winter or summer? This smart outlet lets you create a scheduled based on sunrise or sunset. You can select sunrise or sunset then set an event time before or after that up to 11h 59m from that point in time. Activate right at sunset, no problem. Activate 23 m after sunset, no problem. Activate 3h 17m before sunset, no problem. Basically you have full control. Auto off after X minute events can be scheduled. Combined with sunrise/sunset you have very flexible control. Events can be schedule for a specific day of the week or all days, or some days of the week. The schedules you set can easily be enabled or disabled with a simple toggle on/off. When you travel. enable the scheduled events, when you return, disable it until next time with a flick of a finger. Both features were missing with other smart outlets Ive used. With previous outlets you could only delete a scheduled event to disable it. When it was time to need it again, I had to re-create it. They also didnt have sunset or sunrise features, you had to use a specific time and you had to modify it as seasons changed. I was able to create a scene that would turn all outlets off with a tap, or on with a tap. Scenes could include all or some devices. The setup using the built-in wifi was a little more difficult compared to the two other smart outlets Ive used. This was a little frustrating but it seemed to work better if you remained very close (a few feet) from the outlet during initial installation. It takes a few minutes so if you plan it properly and use an outlet convenient to remaining close by for several minutes you might experience less frustration than I did. All four of mine needed a firmware update that wasnt forced but was easy to install. I do not have Alexa or Google Assistant but it claims to integrate with them. I use mine without integration, simply using the app for all features.

I have a few Amazon Echos so I purchased these plugs upon my breast cancer diagnosis. I am glad I did because they have simply been a Godsend. I developed peripheral neuropathy from chemotherapy and would not have been able to turn on any of my lamps by their own turn switch. Since I had also purchased several more for around my home all I have to do is tell my Echo which group to turn on while I am walking through my house. I have several echos because I like to play music in all rooms, from time to time. In my home office, it is inconvenient to have floor lamps from each corner plugged into the one receptacle controlled by the one wall switch, which I did at one time because I could not maneuver the tiny little turn switch on each lamp, even before chemo. Now I have each lamp controlled at its nearest receptacle and turn them all on as a group (all 4 of them) with my voice from any of my Echos around my house. Additionally, with the Meross app, I can set up times for my lights to automatically turn on, or off, or turn them on manually from the app, no matter where I am. This was extremely helpful since my tiny little 5 cup coffee maker was not programmable nor had auto shutoff and yes, I returned home to nasty burned coffee smell. No longer with my Meross plug. My homes location is given to frequent electrical brown outs so once in a blue moon I have to manually unplug and replug to reset the device. On two different devices this has only happened twice in the almost year since I connected them all and I have experienced several brown outs and blackouts. Otherwise they reconnect to wi-fi on their own. I also purchased an outdoor device so I could turn on the two lighted trees that flank my front door without going outside in cold, rain or snow. After I am recovered from chemo and radiation therapy, I will be purchasing and installing the garage door adapter to alert me, open and close my garage door because, before my diagnosis, I have driven off on multiple occasions and left my garage door wide open, much to my dismay when I arrived home. Obviously, I am extremely pleased with Meross products!
