It does all you need and more, if you know how to set it up. Because it throws every option you could ever want at you, it can be overly difficult if you want to do something simple like port forwarding, which has over 50 variables that you can set on the firewall page. If routerOS was upgraded with a few easy mode options for common tasks this router would be much more recommendable. Things like auto updating dynamic dns services, easier monthly usage stats, a toggle for enabling external NAT to work when accessed internally.

This device is amazing! After switching to MikroTik products I’m not going back to baseline SOHO brands. The RouterBoard OS does have a learning curve, but the MikroTik Wiki and forums and incredibly helpful and folks are responsive.

Works absolutely fine. No issues whatsoever. It is a good alternative to a wireless router when you are a little concern about wi-fi radiation and your main cable is coming in next to your bedroom. Now, the wi-fi router is moved to the kitchen, which is anyway very close to the center of the house and coverage is greatly improved and nobody should be worry about wi-fi ration during the sleep.

Incredibly powerful router in such a small package. I was pleasantly surprised. Id definitely purchase from them again.

I have only have this router for aa couple of days. I had to take a star away because the interface and setup is not as simple as it should be. However, that also may be because of the complex environment that I have. Super fast router/bridge. I tested it In both router and bridged modes and both result in similar speeds (825-989mbps). Of course YMMV based on your ISPs plans. Once it got setup, it was blazing fast. Pros: Super fast routing. You will get as much mbps as your ISP will allow in your plan. High performance 1G ports that offer flexible vlan switching and segmentation. lighting fast SPF port that worked with my DAC cable. Overall awesome router in itself. Cons: Not-so-simple configuration. For example, I had to reset the router multiple times. Switching from router to bridge mode hung for several minutes at a time. Bridge mode switched back to router mode without warning, which caused a hangup in the network. Untested: I have not tested the wi-fi signal since this is being bridged to an existing network. YMMV. Display a confirmation once a task is complete (i.e, after changes are applies - operation complete). This way a person knows if the operation was successful or not. Since Covid we have been working with WIFI and Ethernet cables running on the floor across the house. I converted a closet to hold the Router, Modem and battery backup. It runs 4 tvs and 3 work stations with no problem. This unit does not have WIFI. Label the cables and see how fast the teenager comes from there room when you disconnect them from the router. This router is fast but the teenager might be faster...... This is a good buy for a secure home office.
