> 24 hourThis software is heavily featured, and also fairly easy to get the hang of and use. Granted Im not 100% beginner with software like this, but this particular software is new to me. He does provide a tutorial to help you get started, as well as links to join online forum in case you need to get help with anything. After messing around with the software a while, and figuring out how things work, I quickly got the hang of everything. Although, Im not good enough with it to actually make anything but I wanna show off, Im sure with enough time in practice Ill be using it just like I use Photoshop.

> 24 hourIm no animator. Im not even an artist. I am a dabbler, though, so I was particularly intrigued by the possibilities with Lost Marbles Moho Animation Software Pro 13.5. Although I could have opted for Moho Debut 13.5, which is a simplified and much less expensive version of this software like Adobe Photoshop Elements is to regular Photoshop, just like with Photoshop I would rather try and work with the best version of the software whenever possible. Skeletal animation, or rigging, has been one of the great boons for animated shows and other projects. What it essentially involves is a surface representation called a mesh or skin over a hierarchical set of interconnected parts called bones that collectively form the skeleton or rig. In its simplest terms, this setup allows the animator to more easily and realistically make characters move with less effort. One of my favorite shows, Rick and Morty, makes use of these concepts, and is at the heart of Moho Animation Software Pro. Of course, if youre considering software at this price point, which is high, but not outrageous, youre likely familiar with many of its concepts, including Smart and Vitruvian Bones, or at least willing to learn. Even though Im a self-proclaimed dabbler, I do hope to use it for some professional projects now and again, as well as for fun personal experiments. So while someone like me should arguably go with Moho Debut 13.5 instead, the extra ambition and cost of this Pro software may be just the additional motivation youll need to make more use of it. As is typical for modern boxed software, you get a disc in a DVD-style case. Theres no actual box like is implied on the store page. Inside of course are no instructions, just a welcome note, the serial number license code, and a discount for add-on products like additional assets. If you dont have a disc drive in your computer, or a USB add-on drive, you can simply download the latest version of the software from the Lost Marble website and enter the included code. In other words, the disc is superfluous. Although not as powerful as some of my other computers, I decided to install this to my Surface Book 2 because of the touchscreen and pen support. While the software supports macOS 10.15 or higher, I of course installed the Windows 10 version on my computer, which also meets the relatively modest minimum requirements. Youll need just under 2GB of hard drive space for a full install. Installation went smoothly. It required me to restart my computer to finish installation. The software icon is a stylized m and the software name is Moho, although youll also see it in marketing as MoHo and MOHO. Once launched, it runs in its demo mode until you enter your serial number. When entering your serial number, be sure to enter the dashes or it wont work (capitalization doesnt matter). When first starting the program, youre given the option of an INTRODUCTORY TUTORIAL (thankfully), an option to JOIN THE MOHO FORUM, an option to follow MOHO SOCIAL NETWORKS, and another option to BUY ADD-ONS. You can also choose not to show these opening options again and just start the software directly. When youre in the software, a sample model is pre-loaded. Youre able to manipulate the aforementioned bones and create timeline-based animations much like standard video editing software. From there I began to tinker. Although I have yet to really make anything ready to demonstrate, it was indeed relatively easy to create and export simple animations, although the latter does take several minutes even with shorter creations and even using multiple CPU cores. This is clearly powerful stuff for the dedicated enthusiast. Although the user interface is loaded and intimidating, its again nothing out of the ordinary for this level of software. I feel like its something I can eventually get a real handle on without issue, especially due to my background in other software like Photoshop. Ultimately, I had a good time with the software. While I know you can read plenty of reviews from far more qualified artists and animators, as a casual user I can say its well worth exploring if you have an interest in animation. It may not be for the true animation pros, but those who are well into the semi-pro enthusiast level should find a lot to like.

> 24 hourExcited to master the debut so we can dig in to the pro. I did get both as I figured we would have one installed on 2 different machines and that the debut version would be good training ground. I will upload some creations once I get a little better. The large number of features makes this a valuable addition to my business.

> 24 hourI got this and the basic program for my 10 yr old granddaughter who loves to draw (mostly anime-type figures) and who has some interest in basic programming and animation types of technology. Right off the bat I can see this is something she will need a LOT of time to navigate and learn how to use and manipulate. She is learning the basic program right now so I will have to return once she has some experience there so that this wont overwhelm her. Once she moves on to this program Ill come back and update with her thoughts and experiences.

> 24 hourHonestly this program has almost every tool possibly I’m sure, however it’s definitely not for beginners nor is it easy to learn. I’ve had it probably almost half a year now and I’m still trying to figure out how to use it. It’s very complicated. Probably a wonderful product if your familiar with animation.

> 24 hourIf you want simple 2D animations or straight frame to frame animations like in a 2D videogame object, its probably better to go with a public domain system like Blender. However, Moho does have a lot of strong animation tools and works with both 2D and 3D models. Tools are relatively easy to use especially for those familiar with many of the animation tools and such out there. Its heads above the last system I used back in 1995, when I was making videogame animations at a game school in Vancouver. We used a hand-me down software, the version of 3D Studio prior to 3D Studio Max, and the difference was like working with Windows 3.11 vs Windows 95 for those who remember those days. This is a polished product, the cost is not high like the licensing fee for 3D studio, but you will need to add something like Blender or Max to create the models and other objects. Moho is strictly and animation program. Therefore, the target audience would be animators who need something to create the animation from pre-created models. It gets a mild recommend for combining with Blender or other inexpensive modeling software to do a professional finishing touch on your animations.

> 24 hourThis software does appear very powerful. But after several hours of youtube videos and tutorials, I still feel I dont have a good feeling for the workflow. Most videos drill into minute details of power features. I just want to take a stock character, put it on a background, and have it lip sink. After hours of videos, I dont think Im close to that yet. But it does appear to be very capable software.

> 24 hourI received a copy of this animation software to test out and trial. I have some experience with digital art and design using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and I have to say that I’ve been impressed with this Moho Pro software. This software is easy to learn and use. The software allows you to move layers and make layers invisible to work with them more easily. I can see where this program could be complicated for someone that has not worked with digital art programs before, so this software is not recommended for the beginner digital artist. The price point is a bit high, but you get what you pay for, and from what I can see thus far, it’s a one-time payment, unlike some other art software that I’ve used that requires a recurring monthly fee. The software integrated well with photoshop, and it was pretty simple to import some of my previous artwork. Overall this is a high-quality program that gives you a ton of features for animating your work.
