I use these to keep bugs out of my apartment. I learned that roaches and bed bugs can travel thru apartment walls thru the electrical outlets so I put Harris diatomaceous earth into every outlet and wall switch that have outlets in them. I keep these mommy helpers in every empty outlet. I only remove them to plug in my hair dryer or such but I put the mommy’s helper right back in when I’m done. Better safe than bitten!

These work well for covering most outlets. Using just the 2 prongs makes it so you dont need to have a ground, which is nice. They are made so they also cover the ground when inserted. They are hard to get off (a plus when your child can get his little nails under anything) and I had enough to get my whole house and give some to my mom to get some in her house. Only reason I would consider giving it a 4 is they arent really that aesthetically appealing. You can see through the plastic, so it still shows the outlets. Not a big deal, but it would have looked better to cover them entirely I think. Overall, they are great though, Id buy them again if I had more outlets.

Ill keep this brief, and for reference: The home where we use this product was built in 2014. These inexpensive outlet covers are nondescript, sturdy, easy (for an adult) to insert and remove, and have—on more than one occasion—kept our thrill-seeking toddler from electrocuting himself. Any time our family can leverage an effective, low cost item to avoid a (literal) hair-raising experience… that’s a win/win! Feel free to leave me a comment or question, I’m happy to add anything else you’d like to know about the product. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, hopefully this information was useful!

Helpful and simple. The kid cant stick things like fingers and utensils into the socket, your stress goes down. These arent the fancy protectors that do anything else but prevent them from accessing the 110 volts of danger lurking every few feet in your home. But thats all I really needed. Plus, they were a great price compared to what most stores are asking for. Arrived quickly and I was able to cover my entire house with just a couple packages. Only thing of note would be that when sockets were really close together, such as with a wall mounted surge protector, the protectors were a bit too wide to place them side by side. Not really the fault of the protectors though. A quick workaround was layering them on top of each other. For example, in a row of three, put the right and left one first, then the middle. You get the idea. Worked just fine. Yay safety!

We bought a brand new house and my 14 month old seems to have discovered outlets for the first time. She was trying to shove her fingers, doll arms, spoons, etc. I had to get on and get something. These are very cheap, good quality and were shipped next day. My baby cant pull then out easy so far, but I cant get right under them when I need an outlet.

We got a bunch of these when my guy was little. They were great, until he learned how to pull them out, and then they became a choking hazard. Theyre well made, they dont necessarily break easily, but the little prongs can break off if theyre stepped on. We were in an older apartment, so the inner part of the outlet stuck out a bit, making it easy for my then 18 month old to pull them out and put them in his mouth. He can also open all the doors with child locks, though, so maybe childproofing is just more difficult with him. Hes now two and doesnt try to put anything in the outlets, but when his little sister gets a bit bigger, I think Ill try those self closing cover plates instead.

We had these installed in all of our outlets because we have a very inquisitive one year old granddaughter. We wanted to keep her safe and not risk her getting shocked or worse. There were plenty of outlet plugs in the package; I believe 36 total. They fit the outlets pretty well. Unfortunately, my one year old granddaughter figured out how to pull them out after watching us pull them out a few times. I have replaced all of these outlet plugs within her reach. I still have them in the locations she cant get to such as behind furniture and high wall outlets. Also, I did misplace a few of them when I went to vacuum and that worried me. I didnt worry about a choking hazard as they are pretty large. I just worried about us misplacing or forgetting to replace the plugs and then her coming over and getting hurt. I just wont risk her safety so dont really recommend these. I pride myself on being honest and providing as much detail and information as I can based on my experience with the product. Remember, this is only my opinion and others may have different findings and opinions.

These do the job and are a good price-- BUT they are clear. I thought this was totally fine in the beginning and it was.... until my child could walk and started noticing the plug behind the plastic. If I had to purchase all over again, I would definitely go with a solid white color because it detracts from their interest in what is behind the plastic since you cant see the holes. I definitely have to pull her away from the sockets more than I would like since she can see through them. That said, they do exactly what they are meant to do, so I would recommend.

If you have newer outlets then this will be a squeeze. These things will fit in rather tight which I understand you want that, but I think it is a bit more than it should. I have a couple other brands throughout the house and now that my 15 mo old is up and about, I needed to seal off most in the house. This is certainly the tightest fitting for newer outlets compared to Safety First and I forgot the other but they sell it in Buy Buy Baby. I would say these would be perfect for outlets that have been worn in or older. Think of it this way: if most or all the stuff you plugged into your target outlet have been loose or super easy to pull out, then get these. But if your outlets are new or the prongs hold in tightly, then I would go for the ones in Buy Buy Baby or Safety first. I used these for outlets I barely use and those that pose the most danger to my baby...otherwise, I use the others since they dont require a plastic knife or something to pry out. Id say if you have critical areas when you know you wont use frequently but the baby tends to find those outlets, then use these otherwise, have another brand handy in case you need to still have access to the outlet without using something to pry it off.

These outlet plugs are clear but not super clear since it has a frosted/matte look to it. Price is great and just bought a 2nd pack to plug the rest of the outlets. My little one is almost 1 and although shes SUPER curious, has not tried to pull out the plug. Its EASY to install, and has good resistance when trying to take it out. A few seem to come off a little easier, but it seems to be on the outlets that are used more often.
