I have a 1000watt amplifier for my electric bass. I was previously using a 18 AWG wire and let me tell you, when I cranked my amp, it would start to make a lot of noise. It would also get really hot which makes sense if it’s drawing a lot of power. Replaced those with a 14 AWG wire and Jesus Lord almighty the difference is real! Substantially less heat and noise coming from my amp. Pretty much everything I have now runs 14 AWG wire. My 100watt tube Marshall also seems to take a liking with the thicker cables. Spend the extra money. I know for a fact that this will lengthen the life of all my amplifiers with proper gauge wire. To all my musicians with loud amps!
