Niteangel Hamster Play Wooden Platform for Dwarf Syrian Hamsters Gerbils Mice Degus or Other Small Pets (Rectange - 7 Height, White)

The product is VERY sturdy when you apply the masking tape that comes with it. I taped one layer around each dowel peg that protrudes from the shelf of the platform and then the legs slide very snuggly onto the dowel, no shaking, no slipping. My platforms arrived in Feb 2022 and maybe this was a new element they added after all of the negative feedback on sturdiness? *ONLY NEGATIVE: the 11in height is rather dangerous for all hammies when left out in open air. Sure, if you have 10in of bedding for burrowing underneath, then wonderful it is safe! But otherwise this height is just too high and your hammie risks falling (even Syrians!).

I was able to fit both food dishes, his water bottle, and sand bath on this platform!

This was the perfect height and size for my cage. I was able to fit an 8” wheel and a water bottle for my little robo on here. The top has a nice white coating that protects it from spills, stains, and liquids. Hamsters need lots of bedding. My robo’s main tunnels are under this platform and this adds another huge area for her to burrow underneath. Very easy to set up and the top is simple to clean.

I have several of these platforms between our two hamster cages. I love the height, because it adds an extra layer to the cage. I also love how sturdy they are. Niteangel has amazing products. We have lots of decorations between the two cages, but I always come back to Niteangel due to the high quality of the products.

I bought this platform because the wheel was getting buried in bedding by the gerbils and the 9 in wheel fits great on the platform (both are made by “Niteangel”) with room for a water dish as well. The only slightly negative I have is that the legs don’t attach to the platform, making it slightly challenging to get into position in the habitat. The legs connect with a peg in a hole type system that is sturdy once the platform is standing upright, but if you lift the platform (like for cleaning) the legs fall off. Seems like this could be fixed with just a little wood glue inside the holes, where the gerbils can’t chew at it.

I really do love a good Niteangel product. I purchased two of these when I heard they were back in stock. I really like them. I would love to see 10-12 inch platforms to allow for more bedding

The product is great for an extra platform, I grew frustrated setting it up however. The wooden pieces keeping the platform up slip and slide out of place, so you have to put the bedding around it to make it extra secure since they are very loose.

The platform is great to put toys, food, water to stay clean and not get sunken in by the bedding

I cant comment on it being chew proof as my critters haven’t shown any interest in chewing it but overall the product is great! I was able to saw down a couple inches and drill some holes for customization easily! The wood coating also makes it easy to clean but some pee does soak up onto the sides.

My hamster LOVED this product. He loved being able to get up high and look around. I highly recommend gluing popsicle sticks or something along the sides as a border because it is a little slippery and your ham can/will fall off if not careful. Gave it a 4 star due to the safety and because the legs do not stay on. If you lift this item up one or two legs will not follow and youll have to reattach. Its really not that big of a deal, just a tad annoying. Unfortunately my hamster passed away on christmas eve (NOT BECAUSE OF THIS ITEM!!!!) so he cant enjoy it anymore but if he were still here hed tell you to get this for your ham. Side note: if youre getting one of their ladders that attach to this I recommend the LARGE. Medium was too short.
