Noctua NA-FK1 Redux, Second Fan Upgrade Kit for NH-U12S Redux Cooler

I have the single fan cooler and it does a wonderful job of cooling vs the stock cooler. I am about 15 (C) degrees cooler with the Noctua. I went ahead and added this second fan and it gave me about 5 (C) degrees more for a total of 20 (C) vs the stock cooler (AMD).

This kit is suppose to be a secondary fan to the NH-U12S Redux Cooler. First, let me say that this is my second Noctua purchase. Their fans and accessories are top notch. They are the ROLEX of the PC Fan industry and dont skimp on quality of their products. The fan upgrade however is not what I expected, the fan blades are entirely different than the one that comes on the Redux cooler. Although, the same size, different blades and the rubber grey sound dampeners are even twice as thick as the fan that comes with the Redux. Not sure if this was a mistake or if Noctua intentionally allowed this variance in product types, but the sound dampener on the upgrade fan makes it very difficult to install and the noise from the second fan is more pronounced which I can tell between the original and upgrade fan.

I am using the Noctua NH-U12S Redux on a Ryzen 5 5600 overclocked to 4.65ghz. Running Cinebench R23 at full load I was topping off at 81-82c before adding this second fan and now under full load running the same test, I max out at 76-77c. Thats a 5-degree drop for only $18.18 with tax.

Bought this upgrade for the heatsink I installed in my new rig and this fan was super easy to install with its quick connect brackets. Fan feels well constructed and is very quiet so far. Id recommend this.

I bought this to slap on the front of my NH-D15 so I could move the other two fans back a slot and have three fans, because Im stupid, and was curious to see if there would be much of a difference in temps. Well, there was. About 9c, so Im going to leave it on there.

This fan drops my Temps about 3 C with the Redux cooler but the package was damaged luckily the fan and accessories had taken no damage.

A simple but effective and easy to use add in kit. Well worth the money for the boost in performance.
