Pack of 8 of these electric toothbrush heads. I always use these, but found that I didnt have spares. This pack of 8 was delivered within 24 hours of ordering, & I expect them to keep me going for some time. The only thing that I would be half-critical about is the usual problem of trying to get inside the cardboard/plastic unit that these heads always come in. Good to know that the heads cant be got at easily, but when you do need to get the 1st one out - a really decent pair of scissors is essential! (Doesnt matter where you buy them - it is always the same rigid plastic/cardboard combination).

These are my favourite toothbrush heads but you have to watch the pricing as it and the offer fluctuates wildly.

Sonicare recently discontinued the small diameter tooth brush heads I use. Further, they are now placing smart chips in the brush heads to keep track of my brushing - at a hefty price increase! Having read in a number of dental review web sites that Sonicare and Oral B seem to be equally effective, I switched brands. Oral B still offers the small diameter brush heads, and doesnt ask a fortune for replacement brushes. So far, it seems to be doing the job. The oscillating mechanical Oral B system seems a bit less refined and more noisy than the Sonicare, and doesnt turn off at the end of 2 minutes - just starts over again. My other concerns are that there are so many different brush head styles from Oral B, and the explanations of the differences are barely covered without on-line research. And while I still use the Sonicare UV chamber for cleaning my Oral B brush heads, these brushes have lots of nooks and holes that seem to hold water in areas that cant be reached by UV light. So, yes, it is a pretty fair toothbrush and does the job of cleaning my teeth adequately (Know more about that after a first dentist visit since switching to Oral B). But actually, If Sonicare still had reasonably priced brush heads and still made the small round brush heads, I would probably switch back.

I’ve used the complete range of Oral B brush heads from the general-purpose heads – FlossAction, Precision Clean, Sensitive and TriZone – to the more specialised ones – Ortho and 3D White. I was eager to give the CrossAction heads a shot, not only because they were the only ones I hadn’t tried but also because they ticked all the “great for everyday brushing” boxes – small size, oscillating heads and lots of angled bristles. In use, CrossAction reminds me of the Sensitive brush head, which I found to be gentle on the mouth but not that great at cleaning. These are a little harder and feel like they’re doing the business, but occasionally I still find food in my teeth that Oral B’s other general-purpose heads wouldn’t have missed. Only the other day, the remnants of a bag of crisps proved particularly difficult to shift, with bits stuck not only in various corners but also on the tops of teeth. An additional 45 seconds of brushing over the problem areas got rid of it all, but it’s an issue I’ve never had to deal with before, particularly with Oral B brushes. The problem seems to be that, in spite of having angled bristles that appear to point out in all directions, they’re actually quite unidirectional and clean only the spot directly underneath the brush head. Unlike FlossAction and TriZone, whose bristles really do seem to get everywhere, with CrossAction if you aren’t careful to go around each tooth quite well you may find that you too miss some areas. Each of Oral B’s brush heads has its own merits but I find FlossAction and TriZone to be the best for everyday brushing as they’re the best at removing food from around and between my teeth. CrossAction heads are fine but they sometimes miss food, even in easy-to-reach areas.
