Depending on what you need it for, it can be great or just okay. For basic screen mirroring actions like presentations or pictures, it works great. But for more specific things such as YouTube videos from your phone or too many actions too fast, then it can lag and eventually crash. When watching a youtube video, it mirrors the actual screen versus just the video being played. Overall: 3/5 Does it work: 5/5 Worth it: 4/5 I would recommend it to those who aren’t expecting much but not for those who are expecting a lot.

It casts photos from my phone to the TV for the family to watch, so cool. Before using it, I was worried that its wireless would make its link unstable, but it didnt. It works great and is easy to link. If you want to get rid of wires, I recommend you to buy it.

UPDATE #1: I was able to test this with a projector. Connected it to the HDMI input and the USB port for power. My MacBook Air cast to it and played audio through the projectors speakers with no issues. YouTube videos played fine. I used to cast a PowerPoint slideshow with my laptop in the back of the room with no issues. Raised my rating from 4 to 5 stars since I was able to verify that audio works. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a wireless screen mirroring adapter that connects to your TV or projector via HDMI. It requires very little setup -- basically its plug-and-play, particularly if you have an iOS or macOS device. Wifi is not required. I tested this in a hotel room with a TV connected to a media center with an HDMI input. Setup was very quick, especially since a powered USB port was available right next to the HDMI port. Casting from an iPad and a MacBook Air was very simple -- as easy as selecting the device from the Screen Mirroring menu and entering the passcode displayed on the screen. Video quality was good. For some reason, audio was sporadic, but Im chalking that up to weirdness with the hotel room setup. Also note that some fairly common video streaming apps will not work, as noted in the description.

I ordered this product to wirelessly display my laptop screen onto my projector screen. Im not very computer savvy but I did eventually figure out how to operate it. Once plugged into my projector it displayed a screen with instructions. I could click the big button on the device to retrieve directions for other devices like Apple or Android. Once connected, I was finally happy that I had made my projector officially wireless. The quality of the image was every bit as good as it was on the laptop. As far as there being any delay or lag I would say there is some. But just a touch of lag sometimes. Wasnt sure if that was from my device or the actual product. Id highly recommend this product if yoy have the correct application for it. No big negatives other than maybe some easier direction like maybe state that the instructions will be on the screen you have the device plugged in to. Great product tho.

Doesnt let you go full screen with any other apps (newer video apps) other than the ones they have listed. If you try going to the full screen or play the video off any other apps, it shows black. Not worth it, if your not able to screen cast what you actually want to watch.

I ordered this on a whim and have never used a wireless extension to a display monitor before. Instruction booklet was pretty clear, given that most instructions for small electronics are never that great. It was up and running within a few minutes. I am running it with a windows 10 PC. I get a bit of intermittent display distortion (crossword puzzling), but it could be some bugs with my set up. Im giving this 5 stars and will keep working with it until Ive become proficient. Looking forward to using it with iPhone next. Made in China.

Connect to any HDMI TV input. For iPhone to mirror, go to control center and press mirroring icon. Select Renkchip on device list. Phone desktop shows on TV screen, then go to Youtube app or open anything on phone. Anything on phone is mirrored.

First - my comment about the description. They call it a Transmitter and Receiver pair. What you get with this is only a receiver. The transmitter is built into your laptop or portable device (cell phone or tablet). Presumably it is using Miracast or some similar wireless standard and relies on the transmitting device to connect. My one complaint is that the screen, prior to making a connection is rather cluttered in order to give help to make a connection. It is nice to have that help initially, but I wish there were a way to disable or show a less cluttered initial screen. I compared this to two other wireless capabilities I have in my home system and my conclusion is that it just might be the best of the three since I can set my LG TV input to optimize viewing. My first tests of this device were with my 2nd monitor on my PC that is actually a 22 inch 1080p Samsung TV. I was disappointed that it did not fill the screen in any of the 3 modes (Duplicate, Extend and 2nd Screen Only) from my laptop. Settings on the TV (Screen Fit) combined with using the 2nd Screen Only mode eventually solved that problem. I was unable to get a properly sized screen in either Duplicate or Extend mode. I then took the device to my 65 LG 4K TV and had pretty much the same issues. I then compared with similar capabilities built into the TV and to my Roku device. The same problems existed with those. The advantage to using this device is that I could make the changes to my LG TV necessary on the input used and they did not have any effect on my normal viewing through a Tivo cable converter, the Roku or my Bluray player. Finally, it is probably obvious that my tests were with a Windows laptop. I did also test it with my Samsung S22 phone and it worked quite well, much better than the LG capability that only showed it in a window over top of whatever was selected. What I was unable to test was the capability to use it with Apple devices. I understand that Miracast is not compatible with these. So the capability of working with Apple is a real plus, making it a more universal solution.

I have an iphone 13 pro and a Sony Bravia TV with 5 HDMI ports. The device does mirror, but it is very glitchy and slow. I have a strong WiFi and thats not the issue. Its fine to view still images or scroll but any Facebook/Instagram reels, YouTube videos or streaming movies it lags. Disappointing in that sense. Ive tried all the different HDMI ports and no improvement. I have Lightning Digital AV Adapter and a HDMI cable and that works fine. If by some chance its my user error and I can correct it Ill update this review.

I had the lap top hard HDMId into the tv and to keep getting up ... worked perfect - Can throw my phone onto the screen easily - love this ... what an easy fix .. didnt even know this existed!
