Patriot Steel - 1095 High Carbon Knife Making & Forging Steel 12x1.5x.125 (Four Pack)

Nathan, the owner of this company is a class act and he knows his product inside and out. I would definitely recommend Patriot Steel as it is most certainly a superior product to Mr. Volcano steel.

I ordered the 4 pack of 1095 high carbon steel just to try them out and see if this company might be better than who i usually get 1095 from 1- packaging was not the best basically the four pieces stuck together with packaging tape on both ends no effort to try to keep rust from forming 2- these were shear cut which leaves rough sides and anyone who has ever used a shear knows the pieces always have some sort of defect primarily a bow which with the pieces that is what has happened 3- as far as the finish its pretty good no deep gouges or scrapes so thats a plus 4- all in all i think i will stick with who i normally my steel from like i said these arent the best but they are not the worst i have dealt with either but as a custom knife maker the more time I spend fixing issues the more time it takes to make a knife which means less productivity and less $$

It was exactly as advertised.

Appears to be solid steel. Dont expect the stamp on them though. Mine came with a third of the stamp on one piece, but that was no problem as it at the knife tip or the tang. So it would be forged out anyway, Thankfully its only on one piece so cleaning it off for a forge weld will not be a problem

My only issue with this product was the shipping material it arrived in. The steel (which is heavy) was placed in a thin plastic package and arrived taped and wrapped with duct tape. There were several tears in the package where the material could have fallen out. The material arrived a little banged up, but is great to work with.

good quality, nothing exciting. within a fraction of an inch in specs as listed, not enough variation to comment on. good for a blacksmith knife maker or stock removal knife maker (Ive used these as both)

Product is ok. Edge are beveled as if the were press cut. Not precision ground. For price and shipping overall good product

Made 5 knife blades and they are great hold a good edge,great steel to work with.

This steel met all my expectations. I blanked out this Nessmuk knife pattern earlier today. It was a pleasure working with this steel. It throws sparks just like high carbon steel should! Bought because it was made in the US. I’m going to make a set of knives for my brothers and dad for Christmas. Will definitely be ordering more.
