PILOT VBall Liquid Ink Rolling Ball Stick Pens, Extra Fine Point, Black Ink, 12-Pack (35200)

I go out of my way to find these pens (I know, its crazy). Ive tried plenty of others, but none really will do. :)

These are the only pen I EVER use. Design has changed throughout the years, but same great quality.

They are smooth and i always love using them

I have using these type of pens for many years. But very disappointed with the box of twelve I bought this time, as the writing point is rough and ink does not flow well, making it difficult to write.

Box said black but contained green.

This is the only pen I will use. I have been using this pen for nearly ten years. I find the design to be much better than other fine point pens, as it is simple and effective. The ink flow is exceptionally smooth; it does not blob or skip in mid-stroke. Unlike most pens in its class, it does not have the unwieldy rubber grip, which for me does nothing except make the pen barrel too large and uncomfortable. Additionally, it is made from a single piece of plastic that is clear, allowing the user to see his or her ink level. Unfortunately, the folks at Pilot seem to disagree with me, as they appear to no longer make this pen as it was. They have moved on to a larger barreled, silver painted version with the aforementioned rubber grip. The paint chips off easily and gets all over everything. Contrary to some reports, Ive never had this pen leak during my decade of using it, even during a number of plane trips. Perhaps I was just lucky. Overall, I would recommend this pen for its simplicity, utility, durability, and excellent writing characteristics.

Ive been a professional writer for 30 years, and for my money, this is the best pen Ive ever used. Skip free and so extremely fluid, its more like writing with a brush than a pen. And from a design perspective, the V Ball is simple, attractive, functional and very comfortable - a solid performer. Show me any Waterman or Mont Blanc that even comes close, and Ill buy it. But in the interim, at less than two bucks a pop, the Pilot V Ball sets the gold standard for everything a great pen should be.
