I havent deployed this unit yet, but am confident that once I build the correct DC- DC barrel coaxial connector adapter cable, this PoE splitter will do exactly what it was designed for. That is, power my new ROKU ULTRA 4800R from a PoE switch while connecting same said device to a wired ethernet connection (preferred over Wi-Fi for reliability / stability), thus eliminating the need to be close to an AC power source. I will provide a follow up review once connected. More to come....

I used this to power some foscam outdoor pan-tilt cameras. I was using a Network switch POE supply and mounted the cameras to the fascia of my home. I used another brand POE splitter and on bench test all cameras worked perfect. Once all them were mounted to locations on fascia I could only get the first camera working that was connected, Any others would not power up! I finally figured if I removed camera from fascia with out changing anything, camera came back online! It seems metal fascia was some how creating a ground loop feedback and changing power requirements. I could have made a cutout around camera mount I guess so no electrical ties with other cameras but these splitters are truly isolated without sharing anything with grounds input to output. I tried numerous splitters and had same issue with many I tried and returned (thanks Amazon!) I saw some mentions about using other splitters to power cable modems and modems frying due to grounding issues but these work perfectly I am told so reason I tried them. Lost many sleepless nights trying to figure out what went wrong with my setup and tried cable replacement and more before accidentally figuring out about power supply with splitters. I wish I purchased these in first place and recommend this brand to correct odd issues as these just work and are very durable, if they fail at some point I will post back with update but do not expect them to fail as they seem built like a tank!

Im able to power my Arlo hub which requires 12V/1.5A, no problem. Ive been through a number of other popular brands on Amazon that all claimed to be able handle 12V and 18W, but theyd whine and get warm if they even worked at all. The PoE Texas unit is working solidly. So happy I dont have to run power.

I tried multiple POE splitters, and thats of the few that work as advertised, producing the stated Watts, in a smaller package than Phihongs.
