This media is the best. I cut them into squares and place them in my HOB aqeon filter , in place of the filter cartridge. 6-8 weeks and pop in a new one. The clarity is unmatched in my tank which is slightly overstocked. Great product, pricy but the 3 pack on amazon if you get the free shipping is the best deal around. These are a must for novice and experts.

I always use this in my filter systems. Its easy to cut and fit in any filter, even a sump.

Mine was black in a couple of weeks in a starting fresh water aquarium. I used it pending the bacteria doing their work.

The product is awesome. Within an hour of application I could tell a difference. Byv24 hours the algae had 80% cleared up.

These filter pads seem to help as a part of my program to keep algae at bay. I used them in the overflow tray for my wet/dry filter.

Excellent product. Does what its supposed to do. No need for a Protein Skimmer with this. Its not cheap but it does a lot of work for a little pad. Rick
