I have been using this product for my old school under gravel filtering system for many years with exceptional results achieved in keeping the aquatic environment safe for all the marine life in my 55 gallon freshwater aquarium. The color change of this product over time provides clues as to the tanks overall health as well. In using this product, I have found that water changes may be extended...great for times when having to go on an extended vacation, as it keeps a safe tank environment without having to worry about unsafe conditions for the fish while away.

Great filter pad, the color changes are a little vague , for instance instead of orange for iron( which is why I bought it) the color was a brownish gold. Tends to get saturated with brown no matter what for obvious reasons.

I have been using this product for many years now, they are overpriced by the manufacturer but worth the cost considering the alternatives that flood the market every year. You can either waste your money on other brands of plain poly or you can spend more on these and know that your fish are well protected.

I tried EVERYTHING to solve my brown algae problem. Nothing worked. Every time I cleaned my 50 gallon tank, the brown algae came back. UNTIL, I found this product. It cured my brown algae problem almost instantly. Easy to use. No extra reactors or stuff like that. So easy, I just dropped it into my Tidal 75 filter after a good tank cleaning and I have never had brown algae since. It is a permanent part of my filter media.
