These hooks are what you want if you have a mountain bike or other wide tire. Other hooks that are marketed for bikes are really only for narrow road bike tires. These hooks measure 9 long and 4 wide (outside dimensions including anchor). The other bike hooks I have are 6 long and 2.5 wide. They could technically fit a mountain bike tire but its tight and you have to squeeze it in there. Just get these and it will be so much easier to pop your bike on and off. I bought the 6-pack so I also used the extras to hang up a kids wagon and stroller. They rubber coating is thick and sturdy and doesnt look like it will peel off like the vinyl coating of my other hooks. Use a 3/8 pilot hole for stud mounting. These also came with drywall anchors but I didnt need to use any so cant comment if 3/8 is sufficient for those.
