I bought this for an elderly African Grey with arthritis. Although she perches during the day, she had taken to sleeping on the cage floor at night, probably not trusting her feet to keep their grip while she sleeps. I installed this shelf just high enough off the ground so she can feel like she’s perching, but she has the security of a big, stable surface. I used cable ties to attach it more firmly, so it doesn’t move as she climbs on and off. She has slept on it from the first night. The bars are very smooth and nice. It has been a good solution for us.

I am so glad that I purchased this for my green cheek conures cage. It is perfect for feeding special treats. I place a small feeding dish with a rubber bottom filled with dried fruits and special treats on the sundeck and Buddy loves it. He has a large cage, so I plan on buying another one soon. I think I will create a forging box to attach near the second one. :)

These are great, I just ordered my third one! Levels are usually expensive, flimsy, and/or too small, but these are nice metal levels that have plenty of room for my girls to really play on. I did cover the wire with some coroplast cut to size, as rats are not supposed to walk directly on wire if possible. Easy to wipe clean this way and protects their little ratty toes :) I have 2 of them in my double Critter Nation cage so far, cant wait to get my new one and rearrange the cage.
