This dye was to try making a water-resistant ink for fountain pens. Im still playing with the formulation to get it to be more water resistant. But it does make a deliciously orange ink at a concentration of 3%. A 0.5% addition of a wetting agent (Silwet) seems to get me started toward water resistance and good flow in fountain pens. Ill be playing around with some sodium carbonate (soda ash) to see if that improves the water resistance aspect without running down the pH. The product came in a timely way and was well packaged without being over-packaged. The product dissolves completely in water without precipitate, so that makes no filtration needed in formulating an ink.
