You never know if security is overkill until something is stolen. When I bought my Airstream, I wanted the best lock available. Theres a couple good choices, but this was the winner! If you have an Airstream, make sure you buy the specific AS lock, the others wont fit due to the cutout on the top. My nitpicks, 1. Its expensive! Ill say. 2. In order to open you have to insert the key into the bottom of the lock. Unless you lay on the ground, its hit or miss. Ill get a small mirror. You can insert a separate lock for the chains, but why? Some determined thief can still hook up to your safety chains with a tow truck and take off.

This is the best lock housing for a hitch coupler out there at this time. This is for my 1985 Airstream Sovereign (Remod) and it is an absolute beast. It’s expensive. But a missing trailer is worse and more expensive. The heart ache alone is worth the money. Get a GOOD puck lock and do your research since there are many choices and all have their vulnerabilities. YouTube has many videos of locks failing so you can make a wise choice. This model of coupler lock will NOT store your safety chains. And this is a problem since some thefts have occurred by the thieves hooking up the chains only and driving off with the trailer. But this gets harder to do the larger the trailer. Look into adding an internal GPS tracker so should your trailer wander off on its own you can send the police to its exact location. This too in my opinion is worth it in peace of mind. In a nutshell, I am very happy with this lock and do not believe a better choice exists. Buy this. Now go get a really good puck lock. And a GPS tracker. And maybe a HD padlock for the safety chains. Or make the chains removable. Some have added a wheel lock. Thieves are expensive.... :(

Great fitting product, amazing customer support. The lock that comes with it was okay, maybe offer it without a lock or offer a choice of lock brands like mul t lock or paclock?

The seller was super responsive and the product fits like a glove. I upgraded the puck lock to a Mul-T-Lock that provides more security and is harder to drill. A bit more of an investment but it will probably slow someone that’s up to no good down. A lot. I plan on getting detachable chains to install as well but for now I keep them locked to the frame.

Reviewed many locks and we are happy that we chose this one. It would be difficult for a thief to compromise the steel casing.

Works great. The videos on the web site show fitting the safety chains in the lock as well. I tried about every combination and watched the videos several times and still no luck, the hooks are just a little too think. Maybe if the assembly that hitched in had another 1/4 inch of clearance.

This lock is easy to use and seems to be theft proof!!
