> 3 dayWith the 2022 version of Quicken and beyond, they now REQUIRE a membership. If you do not renew your membership, the main page has two large banners letting you know your membership has expired. This also hides tabs that you should be able to see. Quicken will also pop up messages when you try to do things, letting you know your membership has expired. I have used Quicken for 10+ years. The <2022 versions did NOT do this.

14-04-2025I have been using Quicken to manage my finances for as long as I can remember. Today, I am not sure I can trust this product. It is as quirky as can be, and I dont feel my information is safe with a company that doesnt seem to use quality assurance engineers to validate their product. Trying to do something as basic as resetting an account number after a credit card breach, is simply impossible. The application keeps looping through useless steps, never achieving the desired outcome. The application is increasingly slow, maybe because I have over 30 years of records. It crashes more than it should, and goes through weird convulsions where the different windows change size, disappear, reappear, God knows why. Now and then, it will get stuck in a loop that requires a forced kill of the app to get out of. This happens often when doing an online update of all accounts, where you download entries from your bank accounts. Sometimes, something as simple as adding a new credit card account is also impossible. The app will simply not recognize the new account online. Im sure there are tricks to get through all these hurdles, but why does it have to be that way? Quicken has been out for ages. Isnt time we get a stable product? Quicken has a feature to track investments and update transactions by downloading them from your online investments accounts. Once again, this feature falls short. It is quirky at best, and definitely not intuitive.

Greater than one weekI have used Quicken software for 20 years to track my investments and transactions. They were cutting edge when it first came out and were the leader for a long time. They lost their way, probably after they were sold to a private equity group. I stuck with them because changing is a hassle, or so I thought. After yet another issue dealing with downloads from a particular brokerage that would require me to reset my accounts yet again I decided to make the switch. It took about an hour to get set up with an cloud based finance company and it is actually easier to use and more informative. I should make made the switch 5 years ago.

> 3 dayLooks like the same product I have been using for 20+ years, but the price has gone up. Instead of using a version for three or four years, I now have to replace it every year in order to download financial data. Looking for a substitute.
