Quicken Starter Personal Finance – Start taking control of your money – 1-Year Subscription (Windows/Mac)

Although documentation is not clear, my impression was that I could continue to use the Starter version after my 1-year expiration as long as I only needed to enter my deposits and checks. I have never used any of the on-line services. As it turns out, unless I renew, I can no longer use the product and all of my history is not available. Tech support chat confirmed this today. Not happy with these folks.

Used Quicken as a check book register for over two decades. Quicken started to demand an account a few years back and offered services I do not want or use. I only use the register function and resented the account creation requirement. As my renewal period approached for Quicken Deluxe, bought in 2020, Quicken forced one NAG screen onto my display. After the renewal period came and went, Quicken forced a second NAG screen onto my register view that obscures needed information. I can work around this but Quicken harassment of my register view is maddening. I own the software. I do not need or desire the other services. Ill be contacting my state Attorney General with a complaint over Quicken forcing NAG screens onto my register view. Quicken tech support was useless. If you are only using the register function of Quicken, I suggest you do not purchase Quicken.

CRAP! After your subscription runs out you can not even open it up to look at your data. It becomes useless you have to shell out another 39.99 for nother year subscription. What a rip off. Save your money.

Its so easy to keep track of your Income & Spending

my review is based on the fact that the product is not as advertised or the advertising is misleading and once you upload the product you cant get a refund of the money spent only the tax you paid. Dont waste your money this product isnt worth it.

How is a program thats been around this long so bad? Buggy, inconsistent, complicated. Why do I have to type in 3 passwords every time I sync a bank account? Why are there ALWAYS missing transactions so I have to go over everything with a fine tooth comb to fix all the errors. Right now it just wont sync 4 months of my credit card data in the middle of the year for some reason that I just noticed, and when I try importing a QIF or QFX it just flashes Importing but its still not there. Overly complicated. Hate it.

Doesnt work with Windows 11 and tech support is non existent on the weekend

I switched to a new computer, and had to install several programs. I couldnt find the Quicken disk, so bought a CD of it. Starter edition. Right. Works differently from the old 2015 program, is NOT as user-friendly, doesnt have some of the features of the original, and is extremely annoying. Trying to navigate to what you want, or arranging your world the way YOU want it is almost impossible. PLUS.....theyre charging me $30 per year for the privilege of using their software. AARRGH! Im searching for another bookkeeping program!!!!

this was geared to om-line banking., not something im going to use. The 2006 version was easier to use.
