Restored by the Fords, Season 1

I really enjoyed watching this brother and sister team and I loved their designs!

Such a wonderful replacement for the now ending 5 seasons of FixerUpper. Leanne actually has the chops and talent for this show. (I covet her wardrobe.) She has no design formula, each project is unique and the solutions are appropriate and creative for that particular building.

I’m sorry, but I can’t stand this show. Steve is not careful at all, is hard to understand, and looks idiotic with his hats and how he wears them. And she lacks any hint of style with her designs. Blah!

She may have good current style but Restore she does not. I watched 2 episodes where she destroyed original mid century details by painting them white. Painful to watch.

This show is incredibly painful to watch if you care at all about historic homes. I actually yelled at my tv as I watched the designer rip out leaded glass windows, paint over beautiful mill work, and graffiti a Victorian staircase (?!) What in gods name... I would hate to be the homeowners when they try to put these restored historic homes back on the market. Mostly I cannot believe people are handing over $62,000 for a lady to spray paint their entire house white.

This show makes me weep. Just finished the first two episodes of season two and decided to stop recording it after watching the Fords ruin a Craftsman and a Victorian home. Why remove gorgeous, vintage leaded glass windows? Why take a jackhammer to a beautiful tiled fireplace? Why knock down amazing archways? Why paint everything--including lovely woodwork--white? I have no problem with a contemporary aesthetic, but why force it onto vintage homes where it doesnt belong? If youre fortunate enough to have a period home with lots of character but cant appreciate how lucky you are, please do the world a favor. Sell your house, buy a ranch, and THEN invite Leanne Ford and her brother (who frankly, seems like hes stoned throughout the entire show) to slather it in flat white paint. Le sigh.

Its sad to see beautiful old homes turned into sterile, characterless abominations!

What is up with the potatoes-in-the-mouth speech style? These two sound like they smoke a few joints before they shoot the show! The video and audio slow down and stop, and I get to look at the spinning white circle for about 15 seconds. Sometimes this happens when the camera is panned on the homeowners faces. They do not look happy. The black pool?!?!?!?!?!?! With little kids in the house?!?!?!?!?!?!? How are you going to see a little body at the bottom of a black pool!?!?!?!?!?!? They are smoking weed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love seeing this duo in action! I want to paint my whole house white!
