I am so satisfied with this Samsung T7, It’s really well and fast however, one thing, I’m not really enjoy about it is that it’s getting hot so fast when I working on it but if I just plugged it in, it not going to get hot. Anyway, still a good a product so far.

The T7 1TB SSD wouldnt mount on my older MacBook Pro. No show in Disk Utilities, not at all. These older MBPs only supply 500 mA to non-Apple accessories whereas the T7 specs call for connection to a 1500 mA capable USB 3.2 source. I solved this and got the T7 to work as expected by using an external USB hub with a power connector. Then the T7 mounted and transferred data at high speed (500 MBps rated on the USB 3 SuperSpeed connection). And once recognized. no hub was needed for subsequent connection, the T7 mounts normally.

Been using it to play Overwatch off of for a few weeks now. No issues whatsoever. Runs the game faster than my hard drive.

I skimped out on storage space when I purchased my computer. I didnt realize how big games were these days.

I purchased this ssd thinking it would work for the Xbox one x as an external ssd drive. I had also purchased the t7 1tb ssd with the fingerprint sensor option when it first released as well and had the exact same issues as this ssd. The exact same issue where when I play forza horizon 4 happens with this drive. When I go into a race online, not only does it pause for like 3 seconds, but the map has white square patches missing at times due to the sleeping hybrid feature of these ssds. They are more efficient in these aspects energy wise as well as longevity wise but it affects real time applications such as gaming. I had my hopes up that maybe I got a lemon the first go around or that they released an update but Im sorry to say they havent. The loading speeds are exactly the same between the t5 ssd and the t7 ssd from samsung when connected to the Xbox one x. I tested the load speed of only forza horizon 4 on my t5 ssd and then filled it up to about 75% and tested it again and it still loads exactly the same speed! The t5 is IMHO and research the fastest and most durable ssd for the Xbox one x as far as external ssd drives go. Give nvme ssd technology time to work these bugs out but dont think the t5 ssd isnt fast because it is one of the fastest if not the fastest portable ssd on the market besides newer nvme ssd technology drives
