Item arrived in retail package and works fine. I dont know much about speed,as Ive heard some are faster than others, but this is a USB 2.0 so it is fine for my friends needs.

> 3 dayIt is what it is but the encryption program that it comes with takes forever. Im using this to back-up photos on my laptop. A file with 100 photos takes about 5 hours (not an exaggeration) to encrypt and save. It is probably a good thing but just takes a long time.
