05-04-2025The install says one tool installation, if you are using it as an interior lever you need a hammer to pound the latch in. But who does not have a hammer in their house these days? My former house had the similar style installed and they worked very nicely for the 6+ years we were there. We liked them so much that as we remodel and update our existing house we are installing these. Total time to install is 15 minutes for the first time but subsequent installs will take no more than 5. The first one I installed is very nice and smooth, the second has a slight catch on it but a small adjustment should take care of it. If you need to reverse the handle it is very easy by using the enclosed pin (used to unlock the door) and push it in a small hole in at the base of the handle and pull it off. Reverse and push on--30 seconds. Gave it a 4 for the time being given the little use this particular model and the one that feels notchy. Update: while installing on other doors I noted this was happening to them too. Turns out that a small adjustment of lifting the handles to sit a little higher in the door hole solved this issue on all handles; all handles move smoothly and the latch no longer catches as it is released.

> 3 dayA high quality Lever. Only thing I dont like is the fact that you have to turn the handle almost 90 degrees to open a door. This is excessive and certainly not ergonomic, And is a lot more than similar handles and lock sets from Quickset. But Schlage has a few more varieties to chose in the same series from and in my case I replace all handles and locks in an entire house.

Greater than one weekYou should really pay attention to the one star reviews here. This doorknob is a joke. Dont believe me? Try this: lock the door with the push button, then from the other side pull the lever all the way to the left slightly forcing it, then pull it to the right forcing it slightly. You will find that the door quite easily unlocks. Ive tried this on 4 doorknobs Ive installed as well as the display at both Lowes and home Depot, and without fail it opens from the other side when locked. If youve bought this, try doing what Ive described. The engineer who designed this is either stupid or doesnt care

> 3 dayThese door knobs are not very well built. They unlock easily from the outside. They are defective. Buyer beware. I not recommend and Schlage customer service is lacking. Again, I do not recommend.

Greater than one weekThese Schlage lever handles were so easy to install and look much fresher than the 30 year old brass knobs they replaced. I am a not-very-handy 55-year-old woman with zero fix-it skills, but after the first couple tries, I was able to remove the old doorknob and strike plate and install one of these in under 10 minutes. It is so simple, and all the parts fit together so nicely. The only trick was switching the levers to ensure that the handle faced in the proper direction -- but once I saw how to do that by watching an installation video on youtube, it was all smooth sailing. The levers are easier to use than knobs and they look clean and contemporary. If youre thinking about replacing doorknobs, you wont go wrong with these Schlage levers. I was really amazed at how easy they were to install. Even though I had a handy man lined up to help, I ended up doing most of them myself, as it was kind of fun. If youre replacing doorknobs, dont forget hinges as well. Each set comes with levers for both sides of the doors, screws, and a matching strike plate. If you install these and find the door doesnt close quite right, it may require a tiny adjustment in the positioning of the strike plate. There are a zillion youtube videos on how to fix a door that wont close -- and the fixes are pretty simple.
