> 24 hourI just got my order in , I had read these come pretty dirty but man I dont know how many times you neeed to rinse them but I must have gone through 50 gallons of water to get them relatively clean, Seems like the agitation of moving them around to rinse them actually cause the stones to grind up creating more dust. I got them in my filter now. Thankfully didnt cloud up with any dust particles. When I soaked them in a bucket some actually floated. These are definitely super porous and am optimistic they will help improve my biofilter.

> 24 hourI have a new 55 gallon tank about 2 months old, I seeded it with old gravel in panty hose and I squeezed the brown muck into my tank, needless to say I am neurotic and I cant leave my tank alone. I change the water pretty much every other day. My ammonia and nitrite levels have been fluctuating. As soon as they were both 0 I changed the canister water and rinsed the poly pad in aquarium water. I vacuumed the gravel all in the same day and now im having a mini-cycle. I was then told the polypad would fall apart eventually and all I needed in my high powered canister filter was biofilter ceramic media. I have been slowly trying to get to only that but with 2 goldies , I dont want them suffering any ammonia spikes so I keep adding expensive tricks like API-absorb and it works for a day and sometimes up to 5 but not after that. This arrived this evening, I put it in an hour ago went to dinner and everything is at 0! Mind you an hour ago my ammonia was.5 my nitrites were .25.My water was cloudy and it is crystal clear

> 24 hourLarge bottle enough for least 6 months, this media is great and transformed my tank that I had let get away from me. I will say my water has looked clearer after using this than other media. After exhausted you can leave it and it will continue to be your biological media after. 2 uses with no change on your part.

> 24 hourI received a few different color media but they were mostly white. Theres a good amount of different sizes too. I filled up the filter and used the rest as substrate. It can be cleaned and reused so why not? It looks great.

> 24 hourA lot more in the container than expected! I got 2 for my three canister filters. A bit more than a 1.25 of a litre. It is natural rock so there was a few rocks that I not look like they had pours in the rock so decided to toss them out. Just the lid’s worth of cast off. Surprised that their quality control is so lax that that many black rocks would get through in a white product. Since I am replacing bio media already in an established tank I’m doing it 1/4 at a time. So every week and a half I am doing doing another 1/4th so that the existing bio media is not wiped out in a huge swap.

> 24 hourI havent used this. But. It is Seachem, so it is ok to hang around in the cabinet. I had such an issue with getting control on the ammonia and nitrites. I lost a few fish and Seachem products saved me. I had used API and Tetra products and they didnt seem to help. I used a different ammonia reducer which also works great. So having this on stand-by makes me feel better.

> 24 hourthe 1L bottle was the perfect amount to fill up two baskets in my fluval 307. never have problems with amonia or nitrites in my tank so matrix gives ample area for beneficial bacteria

> 24 hourThese works great at removing ammonia and nitrite. Remember the end product is nitrate at the end of the nitrogen cycle which is actually not broken down by beneficial bacteria but by plants. Ammonia - toxic to fish Nitrite - toxic to fish Nitrate - tolerable by fish even at semi high levels If you have plants in your aquarium and use sachem matrix it would greatly reduce water changes. I actually change water 6 months- 1 year in my 135 gallon tank and only 20-30% as a result of not chemical buildup but by mineral deposits left by water evaporation. These makes water crystal clear. Make sure to test your water every 2-4 weeks to make sure your water parameters are good. Petco has free aquarium water testing Take a look at the nitrogen cycle here: [...]

> 24 hourI have used this for a while and it works as advertised. My goal was to get my aquariums to be as low maintenance as possible. So i did tons of research and found that bio-media is the most effective way to keep aquarium water at the right parameters. I now use this, purigen and filter floss and my water is not only crystal clear, but also perfect paramaters. My ph is always around 7-7.5 0 nitrates and nitrates and 0 ammonia! I do add water when the tank gets slightly lower and do a 25% water change every couple months! I couldnt ask for a better, low maintenance aquarium! I use this on a 29 gallon angelfish tank as well as a 60 gallon community tank.
