> 24 hourI purchased 6 of the 1tb p34a80 model NVMEs. I put all 6 drives into a pool of 3x 2-way mirrors. R/W performance was on par with the advertisements, I wasnt expecting to surpass those speeds with the pool as the PCIe riser card nor my motherboard support bifurcation to take full advantage of the PCIe lanes available to the card. Note that even in a pool of 6 drives, the speed transferring files tanks after the cache has filled on these drives. These drives were close to being a 5 star product. One of the drives starting propagating read errors less than 24 hours after installing. Amazon is replacing the drive. Will update how the replacement does over time

> 24 hourThis is my 4th SP SSD. They work well, they work fast. No complaints when used for desktop computers. Highly recommended product. Update 5/15/2021: After purchasing a total of 9 SP storage products a total of 2 have prematurely failed. The first one worked erratically out of the box and ultimately failed after 1 month of usage. The second failure happened after installing windows 10 on a computer and storing it for about 1 year. When the laptop was taken out of storage it would not boot. The culprit was the SP SSD. The other SDDs I purchased are still working great. I think I got hit with two cases of infant mortality. I will update again if I get any more failures.

> 24 hourOkay I bought a top of the line samsung evo pro nvme for my operating system and I bought a 1 TB silicon power for games. This thing works exactly as advertised. Yes it is a little slower then the samsung. But for what I wanted it for, night and day difference. If your upgrading from any other ssd you will notice a difference. When it comes to games....if your playing a lot of multi player games...you are probably gonna be stuck waiting on the guy with the slowest load times. So getting a stupid fast samsung is just not worth the money. If you plan on using this for games it will work extremely well. It will work for your operating system. I just wanted the fastest possible one for that which samsung still holds the crown for. But for the $ to value. This thing is unbeatable. Easy to install, does not come with a stand off post or screw. So if you dont not have either of those just go buy them from amazon for like $7.00. You will need them. If your are looking for a quality nvme at a cheaper price point then samsung then just grab one of these up because you will not be dissapointed.

> 24 hourI ordered 2 of the 1tb model. One shipped UPS and the other shipped through Amazons shipping service. The one I received from UPS was great... speeds as advertised, had a green pcb and chips ONLY on one side of the pcb. The one I received from Amazon shipping was not great, had the same exact sticker on it, but the pcb was black, and had chips on BOTH sides of the pcb, which was problematic because it would have had to slightly bend in order to fit in my Lenovo x1 Extreme Gen 2 due to the m.2 slot being designed to accept drives with chips only on one side. The speeds were also about 1000 MB/s slower on the one with the black pcb. Very strange. I returned the one with the black pcb and kept the one with the green pcb. Not sure what the deal is here but you cant just slap the same label on two entirely different products and expect people not to notice. If you are lucky enough to get the one with the green pcb, you will likely be thrilled as I am.

> 24 hourI had heard about Silicon Power switching components for cheaper parts after the initial batch of SSDs, but I guess I was lucky enough to get a good one. I benchmarked the drive and it seemed to have close to the rated performance, maybe off by 10% or so. So for the price I cannot really complain. Has worked flawlessly so far.

> 24 hourI have installed two of these in my new system, one with the OS on it, and within two days I have started to get the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD). I even pulled them both out and reinstalled them, the BSoD still occurred. My computer is very fresh but I use it for grad school and would like to let the OEM know I have received a faulted drive. I will be contacting the company vie their support when available. Has anyone else encountered this issue? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: I had contacted Silicon Power of the issue, their technical customer service was great. Gave me specific actions to take to solve the problem. I obviously didnt want to format my drive but I did after getting angry of getting 3 BSoD in 10 minutes. I formatted it and updated the BIOS, I currently have not encountered the previous problem. They even provided me with RMA forms if Amazon did not take my replacement action (I never went through with this.) I shall keep this updated based on my experience. Silicon Power has been a great experience to work with to solve the problem I encountered with my inquiry of their product.

> 24 hourUpdate: Replacement unit arrived and all is (seemingly) well. I have increased my rating from 1 to 3, though I may revisit this review in the future if the drive impresses or disappoints over time. The SP A80 2TB M.2 drive that I received is defective. It fails to format correctly either as ext4 in Gentoo Linux or as NTFS in Windows 7. Using GParted, it appears to partition, format and mount successfully, but the drive is unusable. Using Windows Disk Management, it appears to initialise successfully, but quick format fails and full format holds the drive in an in-use state and never completes. I have requested an exchange for the same drive, so I hope the replacement fares better. I will update this review when I receive it.
